Wierd how a Japanese clothing brand from the 90's made for teenagers and college kids which was seen as very geeky has been adopted by so many American rappers/street kids etc.
I can remember Pharell and The Clipse being all over fashion/style maga in Japan years ago, WELL before they we're big in the states.

i got into bape int he md 90s. i mean ian brown been rocking it way before the clispe.
here is the funny thing about bape tho.

the store in nyc only open 3 years ago and the la one like 2 years ago. so 90 percent of it is super fake. yeah bape and bbc is horrible anymore.

Aye, I've got a mate who's lived out in Osaka for 12 years now, he used to send me stuff over before I went over there to work. Before that I used to pick the odd bit up from 'Hideout'.
I remember Ian Brown wearing a black leather Bape bomber jacket on TOTP when 'My Star' came out. Managed to get a second hand one from that Boild Ham geezer in Camden Market a few years back.

Also, I remember talking to Dave Seaman at The Arches in Glasgow, (not the hirsute ex Gunners keeper) fucking years ago about Bathing Ape and Kaws stuff.

80% of it's got to be snide nowadays.
