That's the topic of a news article i have to write by tomorrow! And I never got round to interview people on the streets so thought i would ask here.

You know you see news stories talk about student anti-socal behaviour? Such a voilence and criminal damage, have you had these problems first hand or do you think it is blown out of proportion by the media?

Maybe your view is there needs to be more government enforcment on matters in your area?

I suppose it depends where you are.
I'm a student and i've never seen much trouble with anyone around here.
But down where my boyfriend lives in London, they have loads of trouble.

Have to say that this would probably be the most common complaint from most people. Students moving in near by and partying through the night. I know a few years back we lived in a massive flat. There was four of us staying there, and we had partys every few nites, Police up all the time, environmental health etc, then we had to leave lol.

Now i work 9 - 5 (well i got made redundant but thats not the point) and im the one wishing the guys nearby would shut up so i can sleep! actually thats a blatant lie! I just wish i didnt have to work and could join them!

But ive always hated students to be fair, even my whole time at uni, imo your typical student is a complete idiot!

I'm a student but don't really fit in with other students. Apart from being scruffy, I wouldn't consider myself a stereotypical student. I can honestly say I've not met a single person on my course who i would consider a friend and most of the people I've made friends with since I've been at uni, are not from uni. I just can't be arsed with these horrible student nights playing music i don't like with shit special guests from hollyoaks and big brother on stage :S I wouldn't say students are a menace in somewhere like Sunderland, but the majority of them frustrate me with their conformity and lack of individual thought. By conformity I don't mean they always do the required amount of work (because believe me they are lazy bastards) but how society expects students to act (just getting pissed all the time)

I just try and avoid Otley Road in Leeds every Wedneday, Friday and Saturday, that way they dont annoy me....it's very quiet when they're gone though!

yeah dont go to Oceana or Tiger Tiger........I run a little club every thursday here in Leeds that plays fairly decent tunes from 11 - 3am and its cheap as chips to get in.

i despise student nights, occasionaly get dragged to them and just compensate for the shitness by getting rat arsed!

I was lucky, most of the guys in my small class were into decent music already or prepared to come with us and find out. Although there were still a few who liked the student nights, we had the majority vote on class nights out! :cool:

Student nights are terrible. I honestly couldnt think of a worse way to spend a night out! I have to say however that i met a fair few people who were at uni that shared similar tastes in music etc.

im a student but i hate the utterly cringeworthyness of student nights, behaviour (see stealing cones/trolleys etc thread), fancy dress, and general "oh I/it/he was soooo RANDOM" attitude, i can guarantee no matter what, it wasn't being random it's called being a complete tw*t.

Ha, I was having a laugh with a mate the other day that another guy we know describes all his activities with one of three words: Random, Mental or Crazy, non of the things he does are any of these.

no-one here likes the same music as me, ive missed decent gigs here because of this! sooo gutting.

the mates ive made in uni love student nights and cheesy dance music and commercial crap. i cant bear to listen to it.

most of the people i hang around with, that i only know through halls/flatmates mates, always want to go to indie clubs. pretty gutting.
