Good luck with this and everything, but please don't allued to it being the 'Erol Alkan Message Board Tour' in any promotional stuff... whilst I'm sure you're all well-rounded individuals in the proper world, I'm pretty sure a night billed as being hosted by an internet forum would turn a lot of people away (no doubt mistakenly).

yeah, it's an offshoot of the directory i set up which was for people willing to play for the promotion and experience rather than money

Maybe it would be better just to start with getting a single meetup nailed (hey- remember that?) - because if we cant even organise that then how on earth are we going to do a supposed tour? I think when I first read about this it was a nice idea in principle and would love to be involved, I just dont know if it will just draw anyone other than just other people off here and just turn into a big backslapping session, rather than actually getting people involved "out there"

yeah, dont consider it me shunning/backlashing the whole thing, I think its great. A tour is a logistical mammoth, and maybe there are going to be different levels of experience and organisation, and different ways of doing things, so rather than spreading everything, and everyone too thin, why dont we all just concentrate one thing? Then we can all bring our respective gangs of people along to one place, pack it out etc. I wouldnt have the foggiest to be fair and im not trying to lead the charge by any means (I dont want to either.) great ideas can fall apart in practice very quickly unless absolutley watertight

I don't do any of those things haha but if theres any other adminey things you need a hand with I'd be well up for helping, I have some good contacts for Birmingham too if you decide to come here.

there are loads of people who read this but don't post though, it's how everyone finds out what's hot in the dance world! like i don't post much but if this did happen i'd definitely get myself and some mates down to the sheffield date, i've seen up and atom/coin operated boy/mike pony dj before and thoroughly enjoyed myself. you'd get a lot more people going to the dates than just the disco kings from here, local djs always attract a large local crowd
