Erol's booked to play the next Wax:on at Digital Brighton/Project 187 (shit name) with Mystery Jets next month.

North East nights - Le_Coop - 2008-03-28 18:08:21

Selling a major share to a group like that was asking for trouble, im surprised this never happened sooner

North East nights - andy8271 - 2008-03-28 18:14:37

i just remembered i heard the original disco tune that body crash samples lastnite at stonelove

the indie kids where most definetly not digging it. and sadly i knew all the words

North East nights - aka - 2008-03-28 20:13:31

Ha, just saw on a Stonelove group some fitting suggestions for songs to play last night at Cosmic and someone had suggested Daft Punk - Digital Love!

North East nights - andy8271 - 2008-03-28 20:30:19

think they played it actually

was defo some of discovery gettin blasted out

and i realised i dont hate any track ever more than that "cassius" shiiiite

I'm glad to see a sensible conversation on this forum as all the rest are unbelievable. People taking rubbish. Looks like Aaron was sacked, and Rob followed suit. Geoff has all the details right as far as I know. Scott and Scooby will find somewhere to play but I thin kStereo & Cosmic (for Stone Love) where just last min things. I think Bob Senior has had a real shock as I guess this wasn't Utopian Leisures plan. Things change all the time, but Shindig has been around for 16years. Can't see them leaving Newcastle just yet. Wax:On is the one that intrests me for where it goes. Utopian Leisure have been in for 2 years, yet people just start mouthing off now. Rob & Aaron wanted to spread the Tokyo name, and they were going to have sole planning for the outlets and nights, with Bob the financial man. He had

i asked about it on wax ons facebook event after been invited and my post dissapeared. guess they dont know what theyre doing

North East nights - aka - 2008-03-28 23:54:41

either way if they fancy bringing tiga and the boys up to the smog, carl coxs arse sadly wont fit through our double doors

North East nights - aka - 2008-03-29 00:10:14

For anyone who may be interested (hmmm.....) Digital is open tonight as usual:

Friday: Metropolis DJs,

North East nights - Le_Coop - 2008-03-29 01:26:59

Apparently what Shindig folk are saying is that Utopian have full ownership now, sounds bizzare but then again anyone with 51 percent has full control

Fuck Foundation..... The Riverside hands down was the best place in Newcastle ever.

North East nights - steve - 2008-03-29 12:53:58

Its a building site, they generally look like that when theyve had their guts ripped out. :)

Its gone for good, yes we all know how good it WAS.....its gone, gone, gone.

North East nights - andy8271 - 2008-03-29 13:11:44

is it only me in here that likes digital then ?

sure the crowds have gotten a bit chavy but thats because those chavs listen to this music now. i cant think of anywhere in newcastle except cosmic that hasnt gone chavy

all i really care about in a club is the sound and for me the sound in digital is fanfuckintastic

Yeah I dont dislike the place. Just had a bit of a whine about the layout like most people.

Listening to people talking about Shindig has actually made me want to go to Stereo tonight. Im well curious what its gonna be like. People are talking about queueing from 6pm but i doubt that would ever happen when its free and has a larger capacityt than people think

North East nights - aka - 2008-03-29 14:29:32

I'm hoping to go down, not at 6 mind, ha! does start at 8 tho, I guess because it will have to end earlier? Or maybes because there isn't much else to do before hand down that way, anyway hope its not so busy we don't get in, should be interesting!

North East nights - bobbydazzla - 2008-03-29 15:16:57

I think Stereo is a canny venue.

Talking of Riverside memories the first time I ever entered a club was Shindig in 1995. Twas amazing.

North East nights - EatDisco - 2008-03-29 16:19:38

Yep..... Shindig 1995-98 were some fuckin glory years!!

My peepers witnessed so much in that club......Hopefully a certain new venue will relight that!! WOOP.

Imagine waiting outside stereo from 6pm to get in.....FUCKIN LOL

North East nights - aka - 2008-03-29 16:55:46

I say something along the lines of the Warehouse project should be the way forward,
I'm sure something exciting is going to happen and I'm going to miss it all as I move to Italy in 2 weeks anyway! boo!
