The Unexplainable Urge - PaoloTramezzani - 2011-09-07 11:25:14

I can't listen to music at work and don't as I travel to and from this wonderdome of an office so I'm often struck by a tune or a melody out of nowhere, anyone else? Today was Day 7 by The Notwist.

I really want to listen to The Notwist, it's been too long.

i've honestly never felt the inexplicable urge to listen to the notwist

RE: The Unexplainable Urge - Tannhauser - 2011-09-07 15:35:51

Happens all the time, though instead of a song recently it was the theme tune to 'Round the twist'. Wanted to throw the rope up by the end of my shift.

that's more of ear worm tbf, a much less welcome visitor

Agreed. Though it didn't start like that, put a smile on my face to begin with. About to go do a late shift, hopefully something I won't hate by the end of it will pop into my head :)

the GIS for ear worm isn't as horrifying as i anticipated

RE: The Unexplainable Urge - PaoloTramezzani - 2011-09-07 16:16:23

i sense disappointment

RE: The Unexplainable Urge - Evangelink - 2011-09-07 16:25:21

I get this a lot. I'll spend the day with a song in my head, and the first thing I do when i get on the tube is listen to it. Such a good feeling.

indeed, yesterday i had hey by pixies in my head but i've not followed up on that yet

i fancy delving into their bbc sessions when i get home

Had the Urge overnight as well. Went to bed with 'Heaven or Las Vegas' by The Weeknd in my head, woke up with it still there and now listening to it on the tube.

RE: The Unexplainable Urge - PaoloTramezzani - 2011-09-08 09:08:55

listened to the notwist and that was nice but i never got round to pixies again as marc riley had new white denim and wooden shjips in session

absolutely brilliant, both

Don't think I've ever listened to the Notwist. May have to check them out...

i'd recommend them, of their albums neon golden was probably best received but i prefer shrink

I'm guilty of being lazy/poor and only buying their best-of rather than any albums. Listened to it a lot last summer actually.

today it's rooftops by hot water music

"hey world are you listening... listening to me!!!"

WORMED OUR WAY THROUGH DISTANT EARTH

RE: The Unexplainable Urge - Haynes - 2012-04-27 20:30:50

This thread gave me the urge to listen to The Notwist - "Boneless", I wonder why ey? Bit of a love in right here. The Devil You + Me is also a really good album by them.

Also keeps happening with Moonboots - "Got Somebody" with me and my mates. The last few days out sightseeing we've sung it all day only gloriously relieved to get back and play it on the speakers.

Yes, this is a very common urge

RE: The Unexplainable Urge - PaoloTramezzani - 2012-08-24 16:03:47

Manic Street Preachers - Interiors just popped into my head, class!

RE: The Unexplainable Urge - PaoloTramezzani - 2012-09-20 09:25:39

ah, that was a good one, listened through a couple of the more 'commercial' manics albums on the back of that

today, with my boiler on the blink it's 'broken household appliance national forest' by grandaddy :)

i guess that was explainable but i'm not making a seperate thread
