So, based on 3 low quality snippets that MIGHT make up his new EP, Sebastian, one of the most outstanding, talented and genuinely innovative producers of the last 2/3 years is now shit??

I understand if you're disappointed as the expectation levels are so high, but at least wait til you've heard the whole thing in the environment it was made for... a club, very loud... until you send him to the gallows..

jeez
That innovative someone can replicate the basic song format in less than a week?

Hmmm.. I think it would be okay if there was a second bit.

Momie though? Defo laa...

Sebastian E.P. Clips - pppartytime - 2008-03-27 01:02:29

i like the fact that motor is doing that whole simple concept but making it sound so huge sort of like still dre does for rap.

B2 is called: 'Kinder Cut'

Amstereo Galaxy Wrote:B2 is called: 'Kinder Cut'
haha is it? i already said that on the first page, someone said Kinder Kut's from oizo's steak ost. im getting confused now. the title couldnt be any worser for us dutchies

Amstereo Galaxy Wrote:B2 is called: 'Kinder Cut'
Really? Different from the Kinder Kut on the compilation? (And different from Kinder?)

*confused*

This blog: http://kinoute.org/log/sebastian-motor.html claims Kinder Cut is a remix of Kinder from "Steak" :/

Sebastian E.P. Clips - TempestDisco - 2008-03-27 01:58:38

fucking hell, motor actually hurts my ears

it's the only dance song i have heard on this PC that i can't listen to on full blast with the headphones up

:/

love it in a club though

but heavens it's aggressive

STOP THE PRESSES:

my brother, who spends his days listening to copious amounts of black/death/viking/whatever metal, cannot stand this on full volume

well done, SebastiAn, you have broken the entire sonic barrier surrounding the earth

(disclaimer: said barrier may or may not exist)

I think you guys are putting way to much on shitty youtube videos and samples snippets that could or could not be the high points of the album.

Do any of you remember the Springseven set? there is a song after Steakskate that has a sample whispering Sebastian over and over then breaks into an amazing song before going into andDOWN by boys noize.

I think everyone needs reasure themselves Motor will not take up twelve tracks on his LP, and that even on the Boys Noize album or what have you there is tracks we all can say arent the most incredible songs to date.

Personally I think he drops motor so much because it defines his style and sound that hes has coined as his own, besides you cant tell me it wouldnt be fun to spin that it, shit you could pretty much do what to get into motor.

Sebastian E.P. Clips - jamo4000 - 2008-03-27 06:01:09

and remember, it's just 128kbps

I don't have any respect for anyone on here saying these are 'absolute crap'....you should be fucking ashamed of yourselves. All these snippets are great...they've all got the SebastiAn sound and they're funky as hell. 'Motor' is obviously a bit of a crowbar (remember 'Head/Off'?!) But I think it'll be a grower, especially heard loud, like Justice's 'Stress'. You'll all be eating your words when they're played out constantly in the clubs and you all start liking them.

I fear I may incur the wrath of Herr admin and the fucking swearing brigade if I make my views on this record public.

Sebastian E.P. Clips - Gilles - 2008-03-27 20:06:34

Motor gaves me the chills when on highest sound level... In a good way :D this is obviously a track purely for the clubs :D

-1 because 'head/off' is amazing

is the original much different from the faex rework? i don't think i have ever heard/seen it.

fornogoodreason Wrote:is the original much different from the faex rework? i don't think i have ever heard/seen it.
yeah the timbre of both tracks are about the same, but the tracks have TOTALLY different rhythms. the original is in 4/4, but the first beat on every other 2 bars is shifted an 8th note over. makes it sound almost like its skipping, but in a neat way. i really like that track. the sound of that synth line is grimy as hell.

Dude, read the sticky, no illegal links to tracks.

Head/Off is the shizzle.
My favourite SebastiAn track by far. Absolute masterpiece... It'll level anything.
Most aggresive track I've ever heard. Big up.

Sebastian E.P. Clips - zenvision - 2008-03-28 12:01:43

im glad some other people like it...its still my favorite on that 12". i guess it got overlooked because its slower (around 106bpm i think) and has an unusual drum pattern. but the bit where it switches after the second 'breakdown' gets me everytime. so good. i just made the faex edit so i could play it out more, but i kind of ended up going over the top haha

Sebastian E.P. Clips - I love out-house!! - 2008-03-28 12:07:26

I just do not get SebastiAn's ''Sound/Noise' and hopefully I never will.
I honestly think if you're over 23 then the chances of you digging this type of stuff is limited. I'd say approx 90% of the people that by this type of stuff are just out of their teens.
Now that's not me trying to be condescending, I just think that there's something about this stuff that you need to be young to get.

And no, just because I'm over 30 it don't mean I sit about playing Cosmic Disco all day. I love a bit of aggressive, squealing techno.

But this shit, I just don't get it.

I know where you are coming from however....last year my mate moved in with me temporarily and he has been a tech house / progressive DJ for years and started loving my Sebastian vinyl. Especially Ross Ross Ross. Obviously this type of sound has been around for a while now but for people who are just getting into it its great and doesnt matter what generation you are from
