running IE8 on a mac?

I know internet explorer is by far the worst browser out there and if you are using it you should shoot yourself
but im attempting to make websites and stuff and I want to see how much of it has been messed up by internet explorers incompetence

That may work. Also Internet Explorer 9 is out, so I don't know if you would rather test for that.

Yeah, IETab won't work as it relies on IE being installed.

You can try Crossover or WINE, but the best way is to install a Windows VM on your Mac.

Another alternative is something like BrowserShots: http://browsershots.org/

Unless you have to support IE6 (as I have to do in work, FUCK YOU CORPORATE CUSTOMERS WHO WON'T UPGRADE), it's a lot less painful than it sounds.

As long as your code is close to the standards, you won't really face any major issues in 7/8/9. Anything that's not supported (like most of CSS3) will just gracefully degrade.
