Mekonin


Mekonin was born in 1986. in Nis, Serbia where he lives to this day. His interest in music started very early, at the age of 5, when his parents bought him his very own Casio keyboard. By the time he was 16 and with the knowledge that he had acquired while studying in elementary music school, the path of a music producer and a disk jockey was a natural one to follow.

While he's performing, his efforts are focused on defining sounds with harmony, eclecticism and a plot that makes the audience confine with all of their senses to the music, because it's always in the center of the event, as the universal bond connecting people. His style varies from electro, house, tech-house, breakbeat, oldschool, electro, and IDM to techno, minimal and acid. He doesn't like to be restrained by a single genre so he plays whatever he thinks will sound and feel good at that specific moment. It is the music that matters and the "story" that the audience will feel and experience.

In the year 2003 he meets H!, with whom he starts 'FilthFunk' organization with the purpose of recreating the clubbing scene in Nis. The scene of his hometown Nis remembers him from many happenings, the performance on the main stage at Nisomnia 2004 music festival being the most acknowledged one. He also performed at numerous festivals, as well as in many clubs and on radio shows throughout Serbia and abroad, at such happenings as EXIT06 Festival & SEEME Music Conference in Sofia (Bulgaria)
