So you didn;t notice the irony then? I was referring to my own proclivities as well as yours, we seem to be into a lot of the same records. There's nothing wrong with striving for something better though.

As for disenchanted, thanks for your concern, but I'm quite happy with my lot really.

yes of course i edited it out though cause i didnt want to provoke another casper assault...ur sarcasm is not subtle enough...perhaps u and i have similar tastes but our approach to this point and potentially away from it is far more interesting- the striving is of no significance though...glad ur happy....

heard ivan at fabric earlier this summer, he played after richards from say 3-6/7am, good but was far too hard for that time period, i was starting to come down hardcore and it was just painful, i still rate craig richards though, he plays some seriously obscure/abstract techno, a worthy resident of fabric, wouldnt u agree?

His sets have seemed a little uncompromising and minimal the last few times I saw him, quite far removed from his 2005 sets. He's still somebody who is inclined to pull out some unexpected records though.

I do know Josh Wink actually. But anyway, just because I don't know about this genre doesn't mean a) I'm young or b) I don't know anything about music....

A fair bit of meandering but some really great key moments (been digging all kinds of Format B stuff recently).

All good in the hood.

carf for me personally, i'm a firm believer that u play music u were brought up on-so it doesnt matter whats good or bad cause these are just trends and u will almost always revert back to what originally appealed to u especially during the late teens-early 20s period.for me personally, i was brought up on funk and jazz when i was very young hence i like the swing in house, i also got seriously into dnb when i was say 14-16 so i like a baseline, also i around that time i got into a lot of chill out so i like deep stuff, and from 18 i discovered techno,so u put all these influences and u get a mix!

casper calls its fast food techno but personally i enjoy getting lost in the bottomless pit of sub-labels, its easy to play tracks which exude charm but a lot harder to get away with stuff which is less obvious.. its that feeling of not knowing what the hell the dj is playing or where the bloody hell he found the stuff that intrigues me the most, the mystery of it all..do u see?!but my tracks arent that unique so dont worry!

I think the closest place to me that even has a record is over an hour away. Can get some CDs at borders/best buy, that's about it. No clubs either (aside from 1-2 pure top 40 bars). I suppose it helps in a way, because it keeps everything new for me, even ages after it has all come out.

Suppose this topic isn't our pity party though. That first mix is great for doing homework, speaking of.. back to more of that.

liking it. def not the board's regular stuff but could be something off my record box. always enjoyed a darker edge to tracks. full house's massive.

edit. the recording is a bit too loud, it sounds distorted sometimes specially on kick drums.

Uncertainty as to who Slam and Josh Wink are in a thread...my my. Anyone heard of a band called "The Prodigy"? I heard a band called Max Romero and the Upsetters covered one of their songs...something about outer space.
