Not ventured on here for over a year now, but know everyone is pretty knowledgeable about clubs etc so I'm asking for some help.

Basically I'm off to see Chic at the Kentish Town Forum on Friday, the show finishes at 4am and my transport back is 9am. Anybody know of anywhere decent (preferably free/cheap) to go for these few hours?

Make sure you take some ID to the Forum, or they won't let you in - no matter how old you are

^ definitely sound advice, door policy is ridiculous.

Sorry, can't help on the after hours clubs, been at least a decade since I went to one, tend to be ruined by 0400 these days. Probably something around Camden though I would have thought, it's only a short walk away.

The only place I know of around that neck of the woods that definitely runs late is Egg (open till 8am), but tbh, every time I have gone there at the end of a night, I have regretted it.
It ain't free, and you have to go through an airport style metal detector to get in. Tells you everything you need to know really.

I know Nile Rodgers has a healthy back catalogue, but what are Chic going to do till 4am anyway?

Concert finishes at 10.30, but they know from bitter experience that the crowd sing along of Get Lucky during the encore will go on for at least 6 hours.

Hey Steve I'm going to the Chic gig and I live in Camden. There's nothing open past 4am in this part of town but head towards Kings Cross or Angel or Old Street and you should be ok. The Egg is the closest club I can think of now The Cross & Canvas are gone. It can be hit and miss down there so best check the listings. On from there you could try Electrowerkz in Islington which runs to about 6 I think. Most of the serious after hours seem to be on Sunday mornings but there will definitely be something around the East End. Probably worth checking Resident Advisor, any promoter worth bothering with will be listing their nights on there.

Friday's not great for after hours stuff, as they have to clean up and get ready for Saturday trading, most late, late night things that I know of are Sat/Sun affairs.

Maybe Aquarium I guess, if you're desperate. But with a 4am finish at your place, you may struggle to find anything late enough to be worth getting a taxi to and paying for entry.

I've always wondered what the name of that place was. I remember going in and the next thing I remember is being at some bloke's flat next to Victoria Park listening to him babble on about foley work in films. Weird shit.
