As usual, cant be bothered checking the hundreds of recent posts to see if this has been posted, but people are going a bit mad for this myspace on other forums

it has to be

give it a few weeks and the experts will come out and recognise a certain rare synth in the track and declare that aphex is one of only 3 people who have one of them. think thats the sort of thing that normally happens ha

Great stuff. I love his "About Steinvord" section

"hello, im 18/m/es and make music with a fuckin computer. thanks"

http://www.myspace.com/wisp

Some people thought this chap was Aphex for a bit because he was responsible for one of the tracks on The Tuss' myspace. It definitely isn't, but he did release a great ep on rephlex recently.

I've had this thread loaded in my browser for months now, finally got around to listening to this stuff. Really ace, lots of those tracks are good.
I prefer Maelstrom and ontrack v2.

yeah these tracks are ace.

i don't think its RDJ though, they dont sound quite anal enough. having said that, some of the rhythms and the way the acid sounds are processed to sound like his material. Either way these tracks are well exciting!

Whoever it is is pretty smart and got a good viral thing going. But the question is, if it's not Aphex, and whoever it is has a lot of talent, why would they want to sound like Aphex?

god bless richard

i haven't heard much of him, but i love him simply because he does stuff like this.

what's a good aphex twin album for a beginner? keeping in mind that i've only heard very little IDM.

selected ambient works 85-92 is very easy listening I'd say, but it's more ambient all way through

then go for richard d james album and then drukqs

i know this will probably make any true aphex fan roll their eyes, but would it be good to try Richard D James (the album) if i only know and like Windowlicker?

i say this because i'm not a huge fan of ambient and am not yet a fan of drum and bass, although i would like to listen to his dnb tracks but not to start with.

I'd say windowlicker is one of its kind, he doesn't do much like that actually. it's mostly acidy drum n bass with crazy ass breaks and/or ambient

but go here: http://beta.bleep.com/index.php?page=art...rtistid=76
you can stream most of his shiet

The RDJ album is probably the most accessible. You could also try I Care Because You Do. I would only attept Drukqs when you are a bit accustomed to his sound.

Depending on your tastes Chosen Lords or The Tuss' Rushup Edge may be better places to start.

hahaha this is funny, in 2008/2009 some guy on 4chans music board would regularly create threads where he just wrote "Hello, my name is Steinvord, I make music with a fucking computer" and paste the myspace url to his own page.

http://mushare.blogspot.com/2010/01/6776...ml#6783695

No way this is real RDJ, however it's a great emulation of his work :)
