Boy, this has really escalated. Fast. This is going to end up more debauched than a party thrown by Elton John and Freddie Mercury in a brothel.

I'm a total forum newb but this sounds like one of the most exciting parties ever. If you guys manage to pull this off, pretty please come to Edinburgh! For some reason Glasgow always gets the big acts and fun nights while we're left out in the rain twiddling our thumbs...

Is the erol forum popular/important enough to have its own tent at Glasto or even a uk tour? REALLY?
Apart from the 30 or so regular posters, who actually cares?

By all means prove me wrong people...

I don't think anyone's under any illusions that the forum is in anyway popular with "the outside world" but there are a lot of quality, up and coming djs and producers that lots of people have heard of, so don't think it matters too much as long as the name isn't the selling point. It's not like you judge a tent by it's name at glasto really, for example.

Hmmmmmmmm sorry, i'm still not convinced. Admittedly, there are some talented Dj's and producers amongst us but i still don't think it's enough to sell out a 200 capacity venue, midweek in a Bristol/leeds/Glasgow/Manchester wherever. For example, The Kitsune tour pulled around 50 people at its midweek Leeds date in November and that was with a pretty strong line up and label backing...

a good few djs/acts who want to be involved already play at nights during the week that get more than 50 people through the doors.

theyve got 6 months to sweettalk whoever pays them into letting them takeover and make a mess with the erol forum for one night only

A fair point, but you can't generalize from that Kitsune night alone. In my experience, 99% of the time if there's a decent enough night on at a decent enough venue people will come. Provided the night is adequately promoted, you'll get a crowd down. There will always be occasions when the turnout won't be amazing but if everyone looked at it the way you're suggesting then no-one would ever bother becoming a promoter. As I see it, we're in a better position than most to put on a decent few night. We have a slew of top-notch talent, experienced promoters each city and some very dedicated people. We could even have the Erol name (though we'll not hold our breath). If anyone's going to be able to put on some ace events, we are.
