Anyone hear anything new over new year? Or was it more a retrospective of 2008's big tunes?

My NYE conisted of mainly a recap of all the hits of 2008. I almost like it that way though, a sort of fairwell to a year of great music!

How do you know if it's a new tune though?

I was at a house party, so nothing new there anyway...

Haha, do we now have to label all our pointless posts? Maybe some of us should just make it our signatures...

And now for a post with a point:
I was at Subclub on NY and didn't really recognise many of the tunes they played. I usually enjoy this on a night out but I think Hogmany is the one time that it would have been nice to have more of a retrospective of the year's biggest belters.

As a few people have already said today it's been a while since we had a proper "Phwooar" tune. Usually you can measure how much of a stir a track has caused by the backlash it gets on here a while later. I can really remember any forum contorversy since the time of the Kids/Raven fiasco...

Boy 8 bit played a song, that could have been one of his new ones.
I can't remember what it was like exactly, but It had such a unique sound and have never heard it before
