I always wanted to start watching 24 but never got into it. Might book a week off work, rob Zavvi and lose my mind.

i kinda prefer waiting for a week between the eps, cos it builds up the excitement levels. plus, the one time i watched it on dvd, i watched about 5 or 6 in a row, and it suddenly seemed a bit ridiculous, but i can ignore this on tv.

Be warned: the first half of Season 3 is pretty slow, but after that, you're in the clear. Just watched Season 6 before christmas and they do somehow seem to get even better....more ridiculous, but better. |

Shame, cos I think it had some important plot points that I'll be lost without.... speaking of which....Lost...........that's the real TV gold for all the REALLY patient out there...... |

yeah, it's on series 7 now... the 24:redemption thing wasn't as good, but you didn't miss much... the main plot points can be picked up pretty quickly in the first episode of series 7... basically, ctu's gone, jack was in hiding in some african country because he was wanted by department of justice on torture charges, ended up getting tricked into going back to usa in order to save some kids' lives from the militia uprising in the african country, which the new woman president wants to invade. and then it starts....

The outgoing president (one from previous 24 with the big head) evacuated US nationals from the african country before the new birds inauguration. She wanted them to stay and she wanted to send troops in to help the current regime hold off the rebels, who are a right bunch of scummers. Child armies etc. Some right wrong 'uns in the US (you know powerful blokes with ties) have funded the rebels as they want to 'buy' the african country. Who knows why, diamonds or some shit maybe. |
