Super super excited about this one. Its gonna be the only london date in the near future for the Bloody Beetroots. Tickets have started flying out for this one already. Full info in the press release.. :)

Quote:***ADVANCE TICKETS AVAILABLE AT http://WWW.CLUBTICKETS.COM OR http://WWW.TICKETWEB.CO.UK***

The Bloody Beetroots are certainly up there as one of the most hyped electro acts out there at the moment and if you have ever experienced one of their shows or just listened to some of their stuff, it's not hard to see why. Heavy electro biznizz all round. Here at AF towers, we tired of that hard electro-by-numbers sound some time ago, so don't expect that- their sound really is something else. Exquisitely produced, their tunes are some of the very few that to actually live up to the comparisons with Daft Punk and Justice that so many other artists get labeled with.

Not only that but we also welcome back Punks Jump Up from Kitsune, Noob from Turbo Recs and a Kismet Records showcase in Room 2 with Rui Da Silva.

Phew!

:)

THE BLOODY BEETROOTS (Dim Mak- Italy)

Imagine the love child of the Misfits and Daft Punk; the act of conception would be grisly, but what a mighty offspring their union would generate. A formidable figure a la Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo, the polymath and producer behind the Bloody Beetroots.

As a youth Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo served his time in the culture trenches. After years of studying Chopin, Beethoven, and Debussy, he cast off the straightjacket of classical music—while still retaining its hard-earned lessons—and turned his attention to reconciling the new world of samplers and electronic music with his affinity for punk and '80s new wave. Pushing himself as a budding producer, performer and multi-instrumentalist, he embarked on a decade of variegated projects that Rifo now affectionately refers to as "exercises."

At the instigation of his colleague Tommy Tea—his on-stage partner and longtime minister of propaganda— Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo then created Bloody Beetroots, an artistic alter-ego that would draw on all Rifo's experiences to date. Initially conceived as an all-inclusive way to package the live thrills of Bob Rifo's Gang with the excitement of dancing-till-dawn DJ after-party, the producer set to quickly establishing the Bloody Beetroots as a electronic musical entity in its own right.

First up were "French Touch" icons Alex Gopher and Etienne de Crecy, who let Bloody Beetroots put their edgy, acid stamp on the respective tracks "The Game" and "Funk." With other French artists like Rinôçérôse lining up for his services, within a single year Rifo cranked out 28 Bloody Beetroots remixes. But not to mark territory, so much as to respond to fellow artists from around the world, and poise Bloody Beetroots as a truly international sound.

In 2007, two pivotal releases pushed Bloody Beetroots to the next level. First, a vigorous overhaul of "Maniac," the percolating 1983 electro-pop smash from the soundtrack of Flashdance, an homage so inspired it won accolades from original composer Michael Sembello. Next up was "Discommunication," a futuristic disco redux of Timbaland's "Miscommunication." As original music and remixes by Bloody Beetroots began to bubble up in pop culture, via placement in episodes of CSI: Miami and prominent use in videogames, peers like Justice, MSTRKRFT, Adam Freeland, and Martin Solveig were singing their praises in the press.

Dim Mak founder Steve Aoki was an early, and passionate, convert: " The Bloody Beetroots is my favorite project right now. Bob’s remixes are some of my biggest bangers in my sets." He lost no time in snapping up Bloody Beetroots to release their US debut, the ROMBO EP (with a full-length slated to follow soon).
"The EP summarizes much of my world," says Rifo. "You hear classical music, electronica, pop, fidget, punk. And the album will be even more comprehensive, because I want to incorporate new elements… all my musical components. I need that."

PUNKS JUMP UP (Kitsune)

We also welcome back the rather marvelous Punks Jump Up on what is a rare London date these days due to their hectic European schedule. Expect nothing but the best electro-disco from these guys who are currently working on their debut album.

NOOB (Turbo Recs- Paris, FR)

Carrying on our tradition of showcasing up n coming talent before anyone else, we are proud to welcome over Noob from Paris. He has shot to prominence in recent months as a result of some fantastic remixes of people such as Popof, Brodinski and Dance Area. With more releases on Turbo set for 2009, you should definitely come and check out one of his first appearances in London!

MED DAMON (Snap, Crackle & Pop)

Med is resident and promoter at Snap, Crackle & Pop, one of these best underground parties in London for all things Fidget / Electro / Tech. He will be melting the AF crowd's brains with some serious bass and bleeps.

JOHN & ON

Always Fridays resident, John & On keeps it wonky with wobbly techno, off-kilter bass, maximal minimal and a splash of electro.

KISMET RECORDS SHOWCASE

RUI DA SILVA

Rui Da Silva is an electronic music producer. He runs Kismet Records, his own, successful, independent music label. He DJs all over the world.

Rui has been involved in music since he was a kid and in the music business since he set up the Kaos Records label in Portugal in the early 90s with the label he kick started the dance scene in Portugal.
In 1999 he moved away from his label Kaos Records and relocated to London in a search for new challenges. He set up Kismet Records and started recording under his own name.

In 2001 his music leapt from club to radio when his song Touch Me became an international number one single.
Today he continues to produce club tracks and experimental electronic music always, as he puts it, “trying to change the sound and evolve as staying still gets me bored”.
Kismet is still going strong in the digital age with a mission to “help new upcoming talent to break into the electronic music scene”.

STEREO ADDICTION

It has been an amazingly rapid rise. The Producer & DJ duo Stereo Addiction has surprised all by the quality of their sets as well as the creativity of their productions. In the last three years their contribution to the Portuguese Electronic world has been unique but 2008 is the year of their total affirmation. The dice have been launched!

When Gustavo and John-E founded Stereo Addiction they were far from thinking that six years later they would be the Portuguese ambassadors in one of the largest music festivals of the world. They were invited to perform at the Lisbon Rock in Rio 2008 where they star next to some of the best names of music from the world like Lenny Kravitz, Amy Winehouse or Joss Stone. It was in the Electronic Tent next to legends Tony Humphries, DJ Vibe, Carl Cox, Sasha , Digweed or Paul Van Dyk, that Stereo Addiction performed in the largest event of the year in Portugal.

It is also in 2008 that Stereo Addiction had one of their largest editorial adventure. After releasing with labels like the Aenaria Tech (from Italian Luca Ricci) and New Breed, it was the time for Kismet. The label from London based Portuguese producer, Rui da Silva, has maintained Stereo Addiction under his radar and they are his new bet for three new editions.

JACOB HUSLEY (Always Fridayss/wys)

Resident at Always Fridays and Wet Yourself as well as being signed to Kismet Recs, Jacob Husley will be working the AF crowd with his trademark bouncy techno, twisted electro and maximal minimal.
