Possibly Harder Better Faster Stronger? Obvious choice I know, but I'm imagining that most of the tracks people are going to say will be!

I was a little trance loving dickhead in my early teens and the tune that got me in to dancey music in general was System F - Out Of The Blue.
Ha.

Always hated electro hardcore but I took a roadrip with some mates and at 5 am, after possibly the best weed i had ever smoked in my life we were driving in the pitch black country side and my friend threw the daft punk cd in and "Something about us" changed my whole life, and the rest of the disc for that matter, i then went home, downloaded all of daft punks works and started producing, a year later, here i am.

Think most people near my age will say Daft Punk. Around the World was the first track I can remember loving. Also was getting into dance more when Mylo dropped destroy rock & roll. Was mad to think someone from Skye could produce a track like that. So Drop the pressure was another.

Aphex Twin - Richard D James, Kraftwerk, and Daft Punk for a first start,
but Uffie - Pop the Glock, Justice - Waters of Nazareth, Surkin - Radio Fireworks, made me want to search more.
And then Arcadia (Boys Noize remix) - Apparat Gui boratto-Beautiful Life (sascha funke remix) and popof elektric circus made me realize that I like more "minimal" stuff (by minimal I mean not distorded electro).

If we're talking electro, Idealism & Erols Disco 2006 Mixmag CD did it for me.

Brought this to a "show your music to the class"-thing at primary school. The look on the teacher's face was like "will this person start shooting next?!"

more seriously... i've been listening to all sorts of music since i was a kid, and in the late 90s i got more and more into dancey stuff. the euphoria cds set me on my way, then renaissance-y stuff, then i got kinda bored with it all until late 2006 - i saw daft punk live, i broke up with my indie-chick gf and i saw erol a few times in a few months. i also spent more and more time online, got into blogs etc. blah blah it doesn't really matter - it ain't where you from it's where you're at!

I still have the mix cd from years ago with this song on. Such a good cd too. I remember skating to it as a child in my local skate park

Got the taste for dance music from my older brother. Bought Prodigy - Experience on cassette when it came out so guess it stems from there.

Electro wise - remember loving the Touche mixmag cd but not knowing what it was really, then I guess We Are Your Friends (how original).
