Boring i know, but i just need a push in the right direction...

Is it worth investing a good one or should i just get the cheapest out there and, are there any particular features i should be on the look out for.

Basically, just have too much music, film, and what not, so need one.

Many thanks,

x

Get a good one. It'll speed up reading the drive and transfer rates. Also, buying from a reliable company probably comes with a better warranty.

That said though, it doesn't have to be expensive. I got a Seagate Freeagent 500GB for £70/£60. Never had any problems with it, and it has decent backup software with it. :)

Delete some of that what not and youll be fine.

I suggest buying two. For the price of a cheap second one its worth it. They wont last forever and if you lost your music youll be crying for a week

I have a wee 500gb Plug n play seagate one too.. it's handy enough, although it uses 2 usb ports :( 'spose, that's FAR handier than having to use my 500gb power adapter one which now spends it's days under the bed.

If you are buying one, only buy plug n play :)

if your using a laptop i would get an externally power one, as it can damage your psu and stuff. There not ment to be on all the time external ones, thats why they to tend to break, so just back up then switch off etc.

Stick to hard drive makers ones, so things like seagate, western digital, maxtor

Try the Western Digital MyBook. There's a 1TB external for a decent price.

Mine's maxtor and mains powered. This is pissing annoying.

The Apple time capsules look awesome. Quite expensive tho.

If you choose to get a portable one, you'll have to be careful, my Lacie broke after I dropped it. Why aren't every thing build like the w810i - never breaks! Ultimate Terminator phone

I suggest you buy one. I have just had to buy a replacement internal Hard Drive for my laptop. Every single note of music I've bought in the last 6 months or so has been deleted forever. It's an indescribably horrible feeling knowing I'ma have to pay for MOST of the rare tracks again :(:(:(

It makes me sad all day.

Why are all the vocals pitched down so low?
