interpol

not in my view, but that of everyone else i have ever spoken to :( evrery tells me that the 3rd album is shit but i love it, it took ages to get into but i think they earned it with the first 2 albums

any sympathizers?
BLASPHEMY!

i demand under word of god that you burn there houses down and dance around there charred remains whilst listening to our love to admire!

now i must pretend i didn't read that, but i will admit the album is difficult to get into but if you actually are a fan of interpol you realize it is just the definition of perfect for now, there recording a fourth album!

continuing the trend, infadels

the first album was pretty good and it seemed they had lots of potential, girl that speaks no words was a brilliant song but the second album 'universe in reverse' was terrible, like they picked an awful name and tried to make the album fit it

i thought kaiser chiefs' 'everything is average nowadays' was a stirring critique of modern music and most notably, themselves

Your mention of that song reminded of this. Absolutely brilliant.

I think the Manics managed more than two, probably 5 at a stretch.

did you see that curiosa festival they put together in america? superb line-up, would have loved to have seen them bring that over here

on their newer albums, i have 'the cure' and quite like it, not a patch on previous greats, granted

from wiki:

Curiosa is the name of a 2004 concert tour in the United States and Toronto (Canada), organized by Robert Smith of The Cure. It began with a concert in West Palm Beach, Florida on July 24 and ended in Sacramento, California on August 29.

The headlining bands were The Cure, Interpol, The Rapture, and Mogwai. The concert had two stages, with the same main-stage line-up for the entire tour, and a rotating set of bands on the second stage (four per show).

The second stage bands included Muse, Cursive, Thursday, The Cooper Temple Clause, Scarling., Melissa Auf der Maur, and Head Automatica.

I'm going to go ahead and say Incubus, as well. S.C.I.E.N.C.E was one of the most creative and funky rock albums I'd heard in years and now they are almost strictly radio/dad-rock.

Nah, but the Anthem was already a decline from Motivation Proclamation, Festival Song, I Heard You, etc.

And I just saw someone mentioned AFI earlier in the thread, they were at the top of their game with All Hallows for sure, it's just gone downhill from there into a weird abyss of crap trance synths and sexually ambiguous lyrics.

Speaking of sexually ambiguous lyrics, Placebo's demos were better than almost anything else they'd ever do imo.

Some absolute cringeworthy tracks on it!

I was the same, I bought them all up until Fold your Hands, but that was a bit rubbish! (I actually organised and played the launch party for FYHCYWLAP)

The Storytelling soundtrack was where it all went super wrong!

Have you heard of the band The Royal Wee?
