Went to see Source Code at the cinema last night.

Very good if a little predictable with it's plot revelations. The love story aspect of the film I could have done without, I found the relationship with his father a far more compelling sub-plot. Well worth watching. A worthy follow-up to Moon by Duncan Jones.

ohh whee I missed this thread.

Honestly, I usually go through phases of intensely watching movies and intensely making mixtapes, I haven't seen anything worth posting about in awhile. I saw Moulin Rouge for the fifth time last night though

Watched District 9 last night after putting it off for quite a while thanks to it's cheesy viral campaign when it was launched. Glad I watched it though, I thought it was bloody brilliant! Surprisingly deep storyline considering you knew the outcome from the start. Good CGI, great action and some bits that had me grimacing.

Definitely going to be watching it again.

The Green Hornet

I liked it. How i couldn't, it's written, produced and acted by Seth Rogen. It's like Kickass, nonsense but enjoyable. You can't convince me that it's not well shot film, but this is the most important in this genre.

You're the only person I've heard to say that Seth Rogen was the selling point of the film. Everyone I talked to said they were seeing it for Michel Gondry

Because i'm a fan of Seth Rogen. I didn't even notice that Gondry is the director of the film until now. And why should i care? He has only 4-5 movies which are crap, the rest are short and documentary films looking at his imdb. He is famous only because of his music videos but that is totally different than cinema. Finally he made a decent film! :)

^ Man you wouldn't even know him if there wasn't his Daft Punk video. Name one of his movies that you like then? I have watched Be Kind Rewind and The Science of Sleep (apart from Green Hornet) and both are pure crap.
Don't get me wrong i'm not showing disrespect to Gondry i'm just saying that good music video director doesn't make good movie director.
All that was because roland daggett said that gondry is the selling point of the film rather than rogen which a disagree. Rogen is good movie maker, Gondry is good music video, short/documentary film maker. That's my point.

Weirdly, for her, my girlfriend suggested that we watch the JJ Abrams Star Trek this week. I had no objections.

Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind and The Science Of Sleep are fantastic films....Human Nature is very good.....Be Kind Rewind was guff, so I kind of lost interest in him after that.

I didn't know The Green Hornet was a Michel Gondry film and - to be fair - I think audiences are more likely to have watched it because of Seth Rogen, as he's a much bigger name.

Seth Rogen is a one-dimensional hack, a charisma vacuum.

Same thing happened me! Was never really into Star-Trek and my GF was definitly never into Star-Trek but she saw it and loved it!. I used to make fun of her for it, calling her a treky, not that I have anything against them, its just so not her. So she made me watch it..................LOVED IT! I'd reccomend it to anyone.

My comment was aimed more at you saying he's only famous for his music videos, which is just plain not true.

It is amazingly accessible for non-trekkies, marvellous film. My next mission is to encourage her to watch The Wrath of Khan. I'm not sensing much enthusiasm from her though...
