I saw this recently and i was pleasantly surprised. I dislike the previous parts but this one is completely different and really well done. I last watched Fright Night. I had pretty low expectations walking into it, but it proved me wrong. Better than expected remake. It's a comedy/horror so is the original but not one of those blatant comedy horrors full with gags what i expected to be especially when i saw that McLovin (Superbad) is in it. It's nothing too great but it's a perfect entertaining popcorn film. |

Saw the Star Wars Saga from Start to Finish. I have seen all 6 movies before, but this time I saw them in order. Starting from Part I: The Phantom Menace, I saw how Anakin Skywalker grew up to become Darth Vader, how the chosen one got drawn to the Dark Side and how he finally rescued Luke in Part 6: The Return of the Jedi.

I did the same, for the 10th time or so. Still awesome |

Saw S.Darko a few days ago,i was interested to see how could it be possible to make a sequel of Donnie Darko. It's not.Is basically the same movie but with Donnie's little sister instead of Frank.Besides, once Justin dies not all the things change.

at the weekend i watched nowhere boy and ponyo.
nowhere boy was pretty dry, i didn't really care about the characters and i didn't believe any of them as who they were even as i tried to separate the film from reality. would not recommend. ponyo is batshit crazy in a good way. the conclusion is pretty predictable but what leads up to that is so daft and off the wall that i can forgive it anything really. |

i watched ponyo too, i'm a big fan of studio ghibli but i'd not seen this one before, it was good fun but i think it must be aimed at a slightly younger viewer than my favourite ghibli films
still had a few genuinely laugh out loud bonkers moments that made it worthwhile |

Friends with Benefits is (as long as you go in expecting the kind of film it is) actually pretty good. Mila Kunis = easy on the eyes, plus her and JT are pretty believable. Some good cracks + what is actually a relatively affecting Alzheimers storyline.

Unfortunately they used a body double in one of the naked scenes with Mila when she is naked from the back, that was disappointing. I saw Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark last night. It was way over my expectations. Beautifully shot film with good atmosphere and suspense, not too scary but creepy and fun. The story might be a cliche but it's well done and entertaining nonetheless. Considering all the crap in its genre in last 2 years or more this is really a breeze of fresh air. |

Watched Rise of the Planet of the Apes on the plane. Had a massive grin on my face for most of it. Very enjoyable.

Watched Léon: The Professional last night (again)
Gary Oldman plays the psycho so well and to this date I still think it's Natalie Portman's best film Also, reading this page, I'd agree that it's hard to go wrong with Studio Ghibli. - ChicagoOutfit |

Tucked into Super 8 last night having heard mixed rumours. Easily-digestable Hollywood staple really. Standard JJ Abrams.
Quite liked it, except the ending was weak as all hell. Kinda felt like a cross between the Goonies and Cloverfield. Don't know if anyone noticed, but in the final shot there's a shop sign that just says "John Locke" - quite obvious nod to Lost. KADKAD: ladies went scissors ;) |

Just watched the Basketball Diaries. Don't know why I've not seen it before - dark and depressing, but kinda good too.
Apparently River Phoenix was up for playing the lead in it...ironic. KADKAD: ladies went scissors ;) |

Puncture
Was good. Kept my attention quite well which is rare for a film these days. I felt like it was lacking some character development though. |

watched aladdin on christmas day - forgot how excellent it is. almost clichéd but the genie is spectacular in every respect.
yesterday we watched Kiki's Delivery Service, which i thought was cute but a bit too twee, and wasn't as daft as some his others, ie spirited away and ponyo. i also watched it's a boy girl thing, mainly cause i liked samaire armstrong from the oc, but it was as churlish and predictable as one would expect. i kind of half watched 2012, which was beyond dire. |

Finally saw Drive. Fantastic film. The visual style, the lighting, the acting, the incredible soundtrack and sound mixing, everything was just absolutely perfect.
I also have a massive mancrush on ryan gosling, I'm not even ashamed to admit it. |

^^ I'd forgetting about Woody Harrelson's part. That was weird. As was the Russian girl and her dog.
