yeah weatheral smaghe was great
so many people left early cos they couldn't eat ot drink

whole day could have been great but organisation was a sham

if you sell 10000 tickets you are gonna need more than ten toilets

Well after reading all the reviews i feel lucky they sold out when they did, thought this had the potential to be one of the best festivals of the summer aswell.

Thought it was great - perfect weather, great tunes....Chromeo were wicked as were Erol & Justice! Too much queing though, for everything! Oh and did anyone notice Xavier yelling at the soundguys near the end of Justice's set?! It all got a bit hairy....

I didn't know you were there Tom.

I think there were pros and cons as with all things, and I would guess the organisers came away with some ideas on how to improve it for next year.

I liked the small tents, and surely that was the point/joke of the Blogger's stage.

The clientele were good. At plenty of other festivals there would heve been riots about the drinks situation. Whatever your opinions about the Nathan Barley/Shoreditch posse, at least they try to enjoy themselves in the face of adversity, instead of starting fights.

Justice, Chromeo, Smagghe/Weatherall were all good, to name a few, and the alternative food/entertainment options were cool.

It could have been so much better, but I just enjoyed the opportunity to spend the day outside, and at

Was anyone in the Bugged Out tent when everyone was crouching on the floor waiting to jump up when the beat dropped?!

It was a sick ass moment, and I am proud to say that I was the one conducting this! Firstly me and all the guys & girls I was with did it a few times... then somehow a bunch of people joined in... Within a minute, the whole tent was down... Erol grabbed his camera and was loving it.

Highlight of my day, Easily Erol's set!

never am i queing that long again for a bevvy in that kinda heat!

apart from the shit ques the music was bloody awesome loved erols set and justice, strange death etc
this may sound stupid but does anyone know the blonde female dj who played her set just before erol? i was a bit trashed at that point managed to sly in a bottle of gin:D

Here's a statement to all who came:

FIELD DAY STATEMENT

Thanks to those of you that attended the first Field Day. Hands up, we got swamped. Sorry. It was our first festival, and there were clearly too many queues.

We did not oversell the event and the numbers of all toilets and bars were approved by the council. However we clearly didn't anticipate the demands on the bars from a Field Day crowd, and it clearly wasnt anywhere near enough. Next year we will be at least doubling both bar and toilets.

We feel very disapointed about these problems, and hope that it didn't affect your enjoyment of the music and other activities too much. We appreciate all of the feedback we have received and will be taking it all on board. Thank you once again for attending the first Field Day, we will improve.

Field Day Collective.

did anyone else actually manage to make it to after party 1? i was roaming around london for over an hour with my mate, half pissed asking randoms for directions but got there in the end, was a class party good people good atmoshphere and good music, anyone remember going outside for a smoke and seeing all the trannys from the club next door was all a bit surreal

Cool, fair play to the organisers for not keeping their heads in the sand. Let's see what next year brings.

To be honest I didn't think it was too bad - I didn't go on Saturday for the sole intention of getting pissed. I'm into the music enough to make up for it. At one point I walked past a MASSSSSIVE queue for the 'wine bar'.....I couldn't believe everyone was willing to queue for that long whilst missing out on lots of dancing!

(The toilet situation WAS a joke though)

i think the general vibe is that every1 had a good day but could of been made a little better without the queues

well that is my view anyway

i agree with djoke,

got there at 1:30, did not think entering was a (time) issue, but there was a lack of signing that it was 1 queue for lads and another for lasses......that was annoying.

toilet and beer supply was pretty rubbish but i took in some vodka and mixed that with quick and easy bottles of coke....it was pretty easy to take hidden bottles in...

i do think selling it as an alternative psychedelic village fete was mis-leading..but fuck it i still believe the reputation of the field day 'collective' sold the event.... if i were them i would worry about the damage to that fine rep. That said - can imagine these are the kind of teething problems that occur when you start a new festival. Perhaps they needed someone with better experience of the logistics of a well laid out festival on their team.

Still - had a fun day, actually loved the casper set in the bugged out tent early on. Home fires stage gave me the most new smiles, was pissed at the early closure of the bloggers delight tent (still loved the idea there...)

After party 2 was great way to finish, the staff there (bouncers/door/bar) were brilliant! and having erol, xavier and busy walking around was cool as fuck.

i just ducked through the fence at the loos near the bugged out stage all day. best crowd of people ever at a festival, everyone was just there for the sun and the music. my day ended is a blur of narcotic abuse, simply because i wasn't drinking, and as i said, people were so friendly with their substances. wouldn't get that at an aussie festival.

had no real issues at all, but i can see why people do have.

thanks very much. and i got to meet mr. winter himself. fucking nice bloke.
