I never got my tickets, obviously posting them to Ireland takes longer than 8 days. I've emailed them in the hope that they'll be able to sort something out, but even so Im flying out tomorrow. On the off chance anybody has spare tickets they would be greatly appreciated.
thank you

nice visuals!

calvin h myspace bulletin:
Subject: Just did that Trafalgar Square gig, feeling like a chump
Body: What's the point of having a support act if nobody can actually hear you out front? Fucking shocking. Reminded me of when we supported Faithless.
I've never understood why there has to be some kind of hierarchy with these things, everyone's there to have a good time and dance to some music, why bother asking us to play if you're gonna treat us like idiots?
This is nothing against the Chemical Brothers, i love them and they are fucking amazing, but i would absolutely love to set the organisers on fire.
And Erol Alkan ended up not being able to play because the organisers FORGOT HE NEEDED DECKS as he is a DJ. Fucking tools.

----

ah i was wondering: where is erol? (see above)

hah, i wondered if I'd just missed erol or what... thats classic!
however, i could hear calvin loud and clear so I'm not sure what hes on about... i did however wish i couldn't hear him, but thats another matter. I wonder if his band learned all their posing in session school... its was slightly embarrassing at times.

However, the chemical brothers were fantastic and the visuals were super nice... sound was loud and clear, something i thought wouldn't be the case in trafalgar square, can't complain for FREE.

Yeah, I figured Erol was either missing or super quiet and playing a shit generic indie set - glad for his sake it was the former. I was pretty near the back for Calvin Harris and could hear it clear enough to tell he was a one trick pony! Sounds to me like he mistook a lack of interest from the crowd for an inablity for us to hear him!
Chemical Bros were fantasic though, and with great visuals too! Shame there was no Private Psychedelic Reel or Chemical Beats, but they played Star Guitar, and mixed Leave Home into Block Rocking Beats, so no complaints here. Great stuff.

The chems were amazing but the event organisation was a fucking joke. i queued for one hour to get to the bar and it was such a scrum that i saw plenty of people being crushed. two poxy bars with 4 staff on for that many people? do these people engage their brains?

Eh ? How can anyone be whinging, we just saw an incredible performance by the Chems against the backdrop of Trafalgar Square, and all for free.

Though there are no words to describe how much of a cock Calvin Harris is. Shit Songs, Bad Attitude.

I wasn't expecting much from the alcohol tbh, because i hate becks and knew that would be all they sold. There were plenty of other places to get alcohol before hand :)

Loved Calvin's little headbanging whilst twiddling a few knobs on synth... any money it didn't do anything

Couldnt organise a f~~~~n kids clown party

Calvin....I hear what youre saying, the sound system was mine....they said they would give me a 'halve your drink Queing time card' in return for my monitors....I said yeah and only queed for drinks once for 15min, I also jumped the Q (dont blame the player) at the start so didnt have trouble getting drinks at start.....4 small bottles of wine keeping my weener cool tucked into my belt and 2 pints in hand. To be honest though, as much as i slate the man, I think Calvin Harris would have created plenty new fans if the organisers were not some dumb ass amateurs.

Oh and yeah.....The only time I saw Chemical Brothers previous was when they DJ'd at Gatecrasher 2000 Don Valley....which was crap and ive never seen much of them live from internet or TV so when I was blown away by them it was a thankfully fantastic ending to the gig and a great warmup for the rest of my night......thank you CBs

Its actually twice as important to get drinks in good time when someone like Harris is at the same event as Erol and Chems. I said I was gutted when I saw his name for the right reasons....its lucky for him Erol couldnt play.....would have looked and sounded twice the chump he felt like

Did you, or anyone for that matter, end up going to Boys Noize? If so how was it? Also, were you in Yates' pre gig?

Ha yeah on Sunday I had my hair slick back to help try get into boombox for boys noize, hence the milkcrate tee and my mate wearing my ed banger style black leather jacket tee, thought we would have took as differnt as possible to get in. She said guestlist only (which means ill let in who i want and turn most 'normals' away) but camped it up slightly and got in.....AFTER I told her I was there to see Boys Noize and she told me he wasnt there.....I wont reapet what I said to get in(no its nothing stupid) incase I cant use it again next time but inside the tunes were immense. I generally have a good time where gay crowds are as the music tends to be more emotional and this electro was big.....some classic heavy tunes I remember, got about 2 hours of footage from whole weekend to go through to help remember....prob more actually

Yes I was at Yates for 2 drinks with 3 friends early on in the day and then 2 of us going to the gig came back for pear cider as spoons had ran out, that stuff they sell there isnt a patch on Kopperberg :-) I like to kneck a bottle now and again :-) pre-night out

So yeah boombox was v v good.

Same price up here but at Leicester Square? When I worked there I had to deal with drunk old men telling me the price of everything at their local Wetherspoons

Ive just watched a few vids I made (will post at some point) and theres a part where Harris shouts "did they remember to switch the PA on?"

shortly followed by a drunken Coop attempting to start a crowd chant shouting "Turn it up! Turn it up! Turn it up!" Dont think anyone in my area spoke English.......it didnt work, and the voume didnt go up either
