Apparently there's meant to be a new Boards of Canada release on the way, according to a post by someone close to the band on their mailing list.

It would be fantastic if this was some of their older stuff like "Play By Numbers" or "Closes Volume 1" EPs. None of these are known to even exist any more. (depsite plenty of fakes on the internet).

I would love to see some of the older stuff come out but then equally I would love a new release of some form, given how long they take to get new LP's out I wouldn't expect one so soon after 'The Campfire Headphase' though.

Nothing on the Warp site yet, but like you say this seems almost straight from the horses mouths.

Should be a good-un I think. I still think my favourite track is Dayvan Cowboy, though I love using Noglax for sampling.

Also, it might have been up for a while but Deadly Avenger has some new stuff up on his myspace page. New tracks sound brilliant!!

BoC - Campfire Headphase, 2005. Period of time between albums = 2 years.
Deadly Avenger - Deep Red, 2002. Period of time between albums = 6 years.

Whoops!

Highly recommend Music Has The Right To Children for anyone who doesn't have it.

The "A Few Old Tunes" mix tapes are great too.

Yep. An essential purchase.

There's a rumour of a BoC gig in Coventry in October? Surely not.

Has anyone heard anything about this? I saw it on last.fm
