J has a new name! I'm positive Switch is doing the main room, so that should give a few people a shock! I may try to go, but prob won't. He was excellent at Shindig's birthday and upstairs when Sasha was on (for 20min before walking out!)

from looking at the recent lineups ive never thought as shindig as just one type of music anyway , seems to be fairly varied ???

Shindig do play a while variation of music, admitedly they all contain the word house, lol. When it started and was at Foundation (formaly Riverside) I always viewed it as a vocal house club as the DJ's where Allistar Whitehead (worst DJ i've ever seen), Murk, MAW etc so never went. Little did I know Slam etc used to play upstairs. I suppose the love of all things dark is around now, so vocal house DJ's rarely get booked. Little Louie Vega an exception a few months back. Upstairs has seen Switch (twice), Jesse Rose (twice) this year. Riton was a former resident there too. I suppose their music policy at the moment does follow the tech/prog/electro house scenes. I think Switch will make a refreshing change downstairs, he's already played 3 times before. Also interesting that Shindig have signed him up and not Wax:On

while on the point of jan wax on does anyone have any ideas who it is ? theres posters all over for feburary wax on (SMD , the whip , closing time of 3am too which seems strange...)

Wax:On and Shindig always do Resident parties for January which are normally free to members or if you have a NYE ticket or something don't they? They never get much of a turnout, I remember going to a Shindig in one room of the Other rooms!

Another funny Shindig was in between Christmas and New Year last year, might even have been the night before, we desperately needed another ticket to the sold out event at Foundation and found out the were giving away 5 pairs in a raffle to everyone that went on this night, we gathered together a group to increase our chances, we were only really there to try and get these tickets, must have been 50 people in digital max. and when the draw came round at 1 or 2 whenever it was, we didn't win, lol!

I don't think many people even knew the raffle was on so we managed to get a pair in the end, jolly nice chaps those Shindig lads!

reading on haxed, mentions of 2many djs at empire to be announced soon!! also seen on facebook, serge santiago and sebastian lerger in january at sugarshack, and a mention of basement jaxx. Good times a brewing.

I'm going to Switch/Chris Lake at Shindig but not Kissy, Probably would have if it were in Newcastle but its a bit much of an effort to go down to Boro' and get back even for me, never mind persuading my mates, lol!
