I dont know about it being a joke.
I had the crowd jumping before i left at 12.45 (I was actually instructed prior to starting to get the BPM up to 128 for a full half hour before he arrived). I wouldn't have said it was mainly an indie crowd, but there were definitely a lot of indie looking kids there, but that could just mean they shop at topman rather than it being any indication of there musical tastes. I would have guessed at there being around 300 or so punters there prior to my leaving (a lot of whom were very fit ladies, which makes a nice fucking change considering the Techno do's i've been frequenting as of late). He turned up, I fucked off... and as I tootled down the stairs En Route to nice i could here him doing a steady, if not particularly adventerous mix of "This is sick" (his tune) into Para1's remix of Primetime of your life (my tune). As I say, it was jumping when I left, so whether he chased everyone away, or they drifted off because they weren't serious clubbers I couldnt say. I was very surprised at the general lack of fluo, which was another refreshing change. Fuck it... It's still going on the CV. |

Like I said before geoff, i enjoyed it but thought the whole place were just going through the motions and not really paying much attention to the music. I remember a surprising amount of girls kept randomly spilling the entire contents of their bags everywhere, that was a giggle. I had a few more laughs at the amount of peopl scattered around asleep, you maybe wore them out! Labbats ice at

Yeah, you've gotta wonder about people who'd go and see a popstar DJ on a Saturday night.
It was the first time I've got to play upstairs on a Saturday in aaaaaaaaaaaages. It was nice to play whatever wierd shit i don;t normally get to play, to a fully receptive rammed room. Highlights being busting out the Wu, Klonhertz and C'mon and Kypski. I'll probs be sticking my head in for Paris is burning on friday, along with Jooris Voorn @ the cosmic and then hopefully ending up at Gershwins for Todd Terje (who I cannot reccomend highly enough - it'll be a proper gay biker disco party... in a good way) which is open till 6. The order of the acts I'm catching seems to be like a reverse warm up (Banging electro, to deep house, to disco) which could be a laugh. I'm truthfully more interested in catching the EatDisco lads than Tronik, I've still yet to hear them play. Now... all of you... go and say nice things on my Boy 8 Bit post, to bump it to the top! |

Popstar 'DJ sets' are never, I repeat NEVER a good idea.
However, I can recomend Asia Argento. She DJ'd at the 'Scream Team' party at Electrogogo. Terrible mixing, decent tunes and she whipped her chebbs oot at the end. Pukka.
