Can't see that working. Leeds and Boro are too close, same catchment area for the clubbers so a conflict of interests becomes clear.
Plus I can't see many traveling to Boro for it from Newcastle, somebody else will just book Brodinski, The Crookers and Cajun next month instead, won't they? The joint needs a 'Mega' reshuffle. ;) But hey, I'm probably wrong. Roy Keane LOVES dogs,,,, any of 'em. |

These have been the most interesting 48 hours since i started working in this industry.
It's like some international incident and everyone is waiting to see which way one of the superpowers decides to go. Wax:On is the only night for whom I'm clueless as to what they intend. |

It looks good and bad.
Wax:On couldnt go to any other club and get numbers surely. Id like to know why the promoters have jumped ship if the ownership of digital has been the same. So some of the management have got their marching orders. Until I get some schooling otherwise it seems the promoters have jumped prematurely |

No.
Aaron Mellor (StoneLove) Rob Cameron (Shindig) Dave Stone (Former ents director of Foundation) Purchased the powerhouse and created Digital, installing their clubnights in there with Wax:On on as the original weekly friday night. Since then, they sold a majority share to Bob Senior & Alan Rankin (Utopian Lesiure) last year. After a series of disputes regarding the direction of the club, the promoters / original owners) tried to purchase the club back. The buy back deal fell through this week and since relations have become untenable in both camps, the promoters decided to remove their nights, with turbulance and Jukebox following suit as a sign of solidarity (and no doubt due to the fact that they have no trust whatsoever in utopians business practices). God knows what wax:on will do, they'd be hard pushed to find a big enough venue elsewhere, but they are close to stonelove / shindig etc, so I imagine they're inclined to support them. Hope dat clear dem ting up Exciting times. |

Also, Stereo has a 650 official capacity, so if that girls saying that shindig has a hard core 500 following, stereo should be the ideal size!
Fark it. Troy Pierce tonight at the cosmic tonight anyway (plus HeavyWeight Derb Step oopstairs!) Or THE DEBT VS BORO! |

theyve made a big mistake leaving imo. general opinions from speaking to people today is that stonelove was wank lastnite. i thought the same but i usually think that anyway.
weird thing is that they all seem to be complainin that the music was shit. im sure it will of been the same DJs :/ |

It all makes perfect sense now Geoff
The smear campaign was in full force from the off talking about Sam Jacks, The Box, sackings etc. The facts to me where that Digital needed more promoters to be given the nodd. Stuff like that mini Wax:On seemed a great idea. I personally dont rate Shindig at all as everyone knows but I would be curious to pop in come 8pm 2moro for a pre EatDisco warmup considering its close by, if I leave the house at all I reckon thats the plan. Can someone explain whats going on Sunday. Seems folk are playing in 2 places and I havnt figured out who is where and when yet |

It was all the same DJs, but people would have been more inclined to pay attention last night.
It'll just be a temporary thing with one of 2 outcomes. Everyone learns to get along again (quite likely considering the loss of revenue the club'll experience this weekend) There'll be another BIG club open in town (ha ha ha and i know where it'll be!) |

Oh and what's the deal with the Thursday nights Rock n Roll poster,
I presumed this was Digital keeping the night the same after Stonelove left, whilst also stealing/keeping the poster design/font identical only without the name of Stonelove. But now it appears on http://www.yourfutureisNOTdigital.com which surely cant be the current people in charge? Unless they secured the website when they saw people using the name? *Edit sorry typed it wrong! _____ I ♥ TESCO _____ |

Something's going on at the Digital in Brighton as well. When I went on the website the other day the design looked the same as usual but the website address was changed to something like http://www.prefuse73.com. Now the old address is forwarding you to that YouTube video. :/

The old owners have changed the name of brighton to project 187 http://www.project187.com
Dunno about the thursday poster, as I've not seen it. The digital site belongs to mellor cameron etc, so theyve obviously chosen to close it down (in quite a stylish fashion) |

Am I right in thinking they originally sold the shares to utopian to cover the cost of starting Digital Brighton, therefore its still theirs and they just wanted to remove the Digital tag, hence the name change?

Ha ha ha.
Just looked at that link now. When Digital first opened Camp D was meant to have the official stonelove warm up. When that got cancelled, they put out a flyer with a bw pic of a girl in bondage with the name Stern Love (101% Submissive), the legal weight the club brought to bare on Camp D was insane, simply for using the same typeface etc, I can see this happening here too. Obviously utopian have purchased that domain name. Digital (or project 187) Brighton still belongs to StoneLove/Shindig etc. The tricky thing is, Wax:On have an interest in brighton too! Politics Politics Politics. I'M FUCKING LOVING THIS WEEK! |
