Are there any DJs known for playing both deep house and dubstep together? And has anyone got a link for a good example of a set that mixes back and forth between both? Not one where it starts out with deep house and moves onto dubstep, but a mix were the dubstep has been pitched right down to the mid 120s.

Had a quick listen to that and it's good, but its not really what I'm looking for. Cheers anyway.

The nearest I've got is in this mix...

http://www.erolalkan.co.uk/forum/showthr...#pid564939

Its more dubstep influenced stuff mix with deeper house than anything though, not sure its what you're after. But I'm working on mixing some Theo Parish with dubstep/grime since he has some quicker stuff that makes the pitching easier on the ears. 140 doesn't go down to 120-ish easily but there's a load of dubstep influenced stuff around at the moment thats anywhere from 110-170 so its getting easier and opening up doors.

Have you been trying to experiment? Got any good combos so far?

Dunno if you'd really call it dubstep properly but I've been mixing the Pearson Sound refix of MIA with deep house thats around 120 and it seems to be working alright. I'll give that mix a listen in a bit, cheers.

Edit - tracklisting on that looks nice.

Perhaps look into artists on Hessle Audio and Hemlock?

I think Femme En Fourrure mix the two in the 130 bpm range though, as evidenced by their Ciara bootleg which seems to take from both Deep House and Dubstep. I can see how it's possible with Dubstep'ish tracks (Ramadanman, Cosmin TRG, Scuba, etc.) but I think 120 is too slow...

Anyway, I was thinking of stuff like this- definitely mixable in the lower 120s...

Cooly G plays deep house and dubstep, but she doesn't pitch the dubstep down

I would recommend you the recent Maya Jane Coles Beatport-Chart:
"Nocturnal vs Sunshine 10",
a lot of Deep House AND (post-)Dubstep in there, which goes well together

Anymore artists making tracks that allow you to mix from house to dubstep and vice versa? All I can really think of at the mo is George Fitzgerald. Loving how Shackled sounds at 140

Good call. The drums on these tracks are killing me. They're all so different

Scuba is the name that instantly jumps to mind, his DJ kicks mix will probably unearth some good crossover tunes

I don't recall him ever going to straight up half time dubstep though. It's mainly 4X4 apart from the few ambient tunes from what I recall. I'll listen again some time today

I've seen Scuba play loads of that old half step dubstep stuff in sets with deep house kinda stuff. Not for a few years though, he may have fazed that side of it out now. Plus when I've seen him its been in the main room at DMZ in Leeds and thats a big dubstep kinda room.

Its pretty easy to do nowadays, there is so much good music at tempos from 110-170 you can just pick and choose, gently nudge the tempo up or down. The 135-ish stuff is pretty key to getting from house to dubstep I find.

Oh yeah I'm fond of my grime/deep hosue transition in this mix...

http://www.sonicrouter.com/2011/06/radio...6-06-2011/

DJ Qu – Runwitit [Underground Quality]
S-X – Woooo [Butterz]
Szare – Volya [Idle Hands]

Pitched Woooo right down from 140 to 120-ish I think, dunno I don't have a beat counter, pure wax.
