Ace album, I can't get enough of High For This, but I don't know if it's because the tune is ace, or because of the unofficial videos with models in it, and the song unconsciously reminds me of it.

By the way, why is it on free download? (I didn't know that at first, so searched in itunes, found nothing, then believed it was a promo, then learn't it was on free download (yeah google is good for that), so I felt stupid)

Think it's a good way of building next level hype, all part of the marketing. No doubt if there are live shows, people will be clamouring to get tickets now. The next album will probably sell a shitload as well.

kinda like what odd future did. they're killing it now because their early free releases were fucking amazing, and FREE. Live shows are popping off, seeing them in 7 days. Does anyone know if the weeknd is touring?

This is the video clip for the morning. What is up with all recent clips having the element of the futuristic looking world?

Awesome!

By the way for those interested in the Adam Port edit, it's dropping on on Play It Down on 29/08.

that is exactly what happened. the guy had his first hometown (Toronto) performance at a local venue. i can tell you unprecedented levels of hype were gripping the city. too many people were scrambling for tickets since they were only available for in-store pick up at local stores.

then the concert happened and people were saying it was the best shit ever.

i'm not sure if people know this but this guy is Drake's (canadian rapper) protege. so he's pretty much revered by people on the other side of the pond

Yep. Figured seen as he features on Drake's new album (stoked) and he remixed Trust Issues.

Drake kills it on 'In The Zone'

Loving Thursday a lot btw. It's not as good as HOB but that was always gonna be difficult to top.

hmmm, not really feeling this one after the first listen. his constant oooowoowooing gets on my nerves a bit when listening to the mixtape from start to finish, bt mainly theres no tunes that stand out like the morning, what you need and house of balloons/glass table girls did.

i dunno if you can compare it to HOB really, it feels like the morning after HOB's night before. a prefect accompaniment imo
also, my first listen was in a narcotics induced sleep and i woke up briefly for drakes verse. knew it was gonna happen but it was still a nice surprise.

Deffo feelin' the morning after analogy ^

I disagree with housecat saying it has no standout tunes. Rolling Stone and Birds (Pt 1) were pretty big before the mixtape dropped. Can imagine Gone and The Zone getting some wide play now.

I'm just trying (unsuccessfully) not to directly compare the two. Only listened one and a half times, but already got a couple of these tracks in my head. It will be the repeat listens on the train that determine whether I love this as much as HOB, but so far impressed.

I really like Lonely Star, but I feel like his vocals are a bit lost in the mix almost. Don't feel quite prominent enough.
