Well, Britney did it, Korn did it, why shouldn't Justin?

I really don't like dubstep at the moment...

the distinction between "electronic" and "non-electronic" in people's heads is laughable tbh

before it all goes HURRR HURRR do you reckon he's talking about big dirty bass dubstep or maybe some of the more dubstep reminiscent inspired ovoxo/drakey sorta stuff..?

see what he does

Works fine with me:

Teen sensation Justin Bieber it seems is working on a new album, which is believed to be heavy on dubstep. The ‘Baby’ and ’Never Say Never’ singer has been working on a new album, tentatively titled Believe, which is slated to release sometime in early 2012.

In an interview with USA Today, the 17-year-old Canadian pop star said, “I’m about halfway through. What’s big right now are beats that are in the clubs, like dubstep. So I want to mess with that stuff, but also stay me.”

We shall believe it when we see it.

This forum is secretly envious that dubstep crossed over more than electroclash ever did...

If this is sarcasm, fair play to you my good man, but if not, serious lols if you think anyone on this forum would care if something "didn't become mainstream"

Well if I'd listen to that kind of 'dubstep' I wouldn't like it neither, but I avoid listening to it, case closed. As in every genre there have to be some idiots who try to screw things up.

I love it when industry dickheads just take something that has got attention and squeeze the shit out of it to earn some money from it. Get ready because probably in the next few months we are going to hear some really shit dubstep.

And no, I'm not saying everyone is going to follow the mainstream. Of course we will still have quality producers making some quality tunes, but at the speed of things progressing with "mainstream dubstep" right now is making me think that we will get sick with even hearing the word dubstep for a little while. At least until it sounds too old for the mainstream and something new has taken its place. Then we can finally enjoy it like we used to.

At least this is my opinion since I have felt like this before many times with other kind of music genres for the last decade.
