Best Headphones for production?

Hey guys, I havnt done much research as yet but im after some good headphones for production. Can anybody suggest any? Price range proabably 200-400 dollars. cheers

I always thought producing on headphones was a no no. Though it's good to gauge how a song songs on a different medium. Buy some monitors?

The thing is, if your room's accoustics are shit then sometimes you are better off having good headphones. Thats the situation I'm in - monitoring in my home studio is horrendous, and so I figure that dropping a couple of hundred on some great headphones will actually make sense, and then when I need to get a flavour of the levels and "feel" stick it through my speakers.

Always good to have back-up headphones as well as monitors. I tend to find my loved ones become disgruntled when I'm playing the same four bar loop for three hours...
