I love sampling when done well. In the 90s producers underground and mainstream were sampling disco loops like crazy (Daft Punk, Van Helden, Sneak etc.) none so well as this classic.

So almost twenty years on, what are some good examples of house sampling other house records?

I am very aware that this thread has the potential to make me feel very old(!)

House sampling House? I can't think of any... I haven't heard the original sample of The Bonb but apparently it was released in '79 ...and House started in the early 80s.

One I love is house pioneer Larry Heard sampling camp 90s outfit Deee-Lite on Black Oceans EP.

Maybe it's a good idea to show your findings on WhoSampled. These are my sample findings: http://www.whosampled.com/user/view/2781/

It did.

'Holiday On Ice' is like an unofficial remix of 'Around The World'' or something.

The synths are the same.

Bonus fact: Said synth is sampled from 'The Rec Room' by Jerry Goldsmith.

Precious System 'The Voice From Planet Love' snatched the bassline from the classic 'MK - Burning (Vibe Mix)'.

Not sure if this counts but in the full version of The Bomb by The Bucketheads the intro contains a sample of a sermon that I think they re-sampled from a Green Velvet track.

Bit obvious, but that new Joy O & Boddika track heavily samples from Tronco Traxxx-Walk 4 Me
