Does anyone know of a website that allows you to post and get feedback on your own productions? Obviously there are forums and places like Soundcloud. But is there a site with a more structured system where you can be almost guaranteed feedback? For example, to be able to post your own song for review you must leave feedback for another person's track.
It sucks when I post something to get some comments and no one leaves any feedback. I know I can't be alone with that. Anyone know of a site with a similar set up? |

This website has it's own "your music" section where you post a track but not much feedback seems to be given to anyone these days it just seems like people just view the thread but don't even bother listening to the track after the read the description. Seems like ya need to be very well known on this site if your to get any feedback or just lucky that someone might actually listen to your track.

There was an EAF Soundcloud group, I guess that might increase the chance on getting some feedback.

unfortunately the "your music" section of the forum is a barren wasteland of tunes and mixes.
there's nowhere I can think that will guarantee feedback, especially honest and constructive feedback, although in the "Im a producer too" forum the "work in progress" thread has a bit of a golden rule where you give 2 other tracks feedback when you post a snippet of yours. If we can keep it up i reckon it'll work out really well for getting opinions on your tunes |

Ok thanks guys. I ask because I'm thinking of starting my own site. I did some searching around to see if someone already nabbed my idea but I wanted to ask some other people in case I missed it.

its obviously not something we can enforce, but people just shouldn't expect feedback for their tunes if they don't go along with it!

what would make the difference would be an environment where constructive criticism is encouraged. There is way too much back patting going on these days. I don't think I've ever seen a negative comment on soundcloud.

Regarding our own thread, it's probably a good practise to only give feedback to people who themselves already gave feedback. Although I think the bigger problem is that the producer forum is pretty slow these days.
Otherwise, the best bet to get feedback is facebook in my experience. Ask especially for negative critique if you want actually useful information ;) |
