There is of course no official digital version. I didn't say that. I have only rips which proove that the Vinyl release by Swamp81 is mastered weakly.

Well, there are digital versions if you look hard enough.

lol... you can't get any higher than 20Khz for a 320 mp3, that's how it works.
If you think you can get higher than 20Khz for a 320 MP3 then you're living in dream land mate.

I have the "real" digital version and it doesn't sound too quiet at all.

Ok whatever, but to be precise, a 320 is cut off @ 20.5 khz L33P33 smartboy. So I guess you, until now, lived in a dream land :D

Chill guys, it's ok. This discussion is over and off topic anyway. Have my point, perhaps I am the only one who hears this lack of volume, I'm cool with other opinions and not up to any further argumentation.

Can anyone give me the link where I can buy the EP as a Digital Release in the quality you're all talking about?

Put the tune into Traktor or some other DVS and tell me how thin/thick the waveform is. If it's thin then its simply a rip which someone recorded at a low level because they had shit turntables which meant the record was prone to sliiiight peaking, even when the gains were a reasonable level.

I have a number of my own vinyl rips which are 32bit WAVs but were still recorded at a lower volume, which makes them appear to look identical to a -3dB pre master when I import it into Traktor.

Could be a number of reasons for your copy being a bit shoddy.

Have you checked the tune isn't just a mono track converted to stereo?

I thought this too though, but only toward the very end of the first part of the tune, before it drops into the breakdown of the Alt. version. The bass does sound a little muddy for the last 8 bars or so before that breakdown. Unless it was intended that way... It sounds fine on the second drop though, and for the rest of the tune.
And any way, on another note.

fuck Mercy, this will always trump it.

Thanks for reminding me of that ace Hot City track, at least something good has come out of this tense wax based argument.
