After their global impact releases Waves/Death Suite (Boysnoize Records 2009) and Avalanche/Lemonade Erol Alkan & Boys Noize teaming up again, using their sound forces to produce two new tracks ‘Roland Rat’ and ‘Brain Storm’!

Following the enormous success of recent Lemonade picture Vinyl re-release and the rework of Avalanche, that included Jarvis Cocker on the vocals, “Roland Rat” & “Brain Storm” are again two fun, unexpected & 100% analog tracks. Out 2nd of April on BNR (Vinyl & Digital Download)

The fact that it's named after one of my childhood icons gives it maximum points in my book.

I remember reading an interview with boys noize where he stated the he likes to test and improve tracks before releasing them. Does anybode remember this interview? I can't seem to find it.

It's just another great release from the two of them. I can't wait to hear Brain Storm in full length on a good system.

Fun fact, rat-fan. 'Summer Holiday' by Kevin the Gerbil was the first record I ever bought. Can't wait to become famous so I can lie through my teeth and say it was Songs in the Key of Life like everyone else.

‘The way we work is we just chuck as many ideas [as possible] at something and see what sticks, so one starting point was a rolling MIDI line which still sounded quite focused amongst all the other bits and pieces (which we soon deleted). We sent the MIDI file to my Roland SH1, plugged the audio out of the synth thru an RAT pedal, and we had the main line…’

Swedish House Mafia - "Both tracks work perfectly with our automated mixing system, and score a 7 out of 10 on the 'reach for the laser' scale. Great stuff!!"
