Every now and then I wonder whether most producers' aliases have some sort of meaning / story behind them.

Which ones do you know of?

For example Akufen's comes from acouphène (french for 'tinnitus')

Diplo is because Diplodocus was his favourite dinosaur as a kid, wasn't it?

Hervé is the French version of Harvey, his surname.

Is Justice from Metallica's '...And Justice for All'? It'd make sense because of all the heavy metal imagery they use, the fact they used to play 'Master of Puppets' all the time, and that their myspace is etjusticepourtous, which is the album's title in French.

Daft Punk is from a review about their previous band, some critic called the band's music 'daft punk'.

Aristotle was not Belgian, the central message of Buddhism is not "every man for himself", and the London Underground is not a political movement.

I think DJ Sneak's name comes from the graffiti tags he used to paint.

Coni comes from Nico (ni-co -> co-ni) since his name is Nicolas I guess
Manaré is his real name
And I've read something about Djedjotronic... If I remember well, his name is Jérémy and 'Djedjo' was his nickname during school, now I can't remember about 'Tronic'... For the frenchies, it was in Trax magazine some time ago

Also La Roux got her name from a book of baby names. Apparently it means "The Red-Haired One".

Herman Melville is Moby's great-great-great-grandfather or something like that.

My own DJ name came down to a toss up between Fisticuffs and Have At Thee! I sometimes regret my decision.

The tronic comes from Technotronic an electronic music duo from the 90s, who are quite known for their track Pump Up The Jam

Im from Quebec and always thought Beataucue was just that... a "beat on cue"..................................

and a more direct translation would be "beat to the cue"

Although he is English I believe Riton is a French nickname for Henry, which is Riton's real name.

Not 100% sure on these ones, but from what i've read/heard:

- M.A.N.D.Y. stands for Me And You
- ZZT stands for Zombies Zand Tiga? or Zombie Zombie Tiga i'm not quite sure
- Les Petits Pilous means 'A Small Something?' in French
- Eats Everything is pretty self explanatory, apparently he eats...A LOT
- Clouds is a combination of both the members' surnames, well not really, it's more just one of their surnames.
- Ado is an abbreviation of his first name, Adrian.
- Boy 8-Bit is used because his first piece of gear was an 8-Bit controller.
- BS1 is abbreviated from Be As One
- NT89 is again abbreviated 'NT' being his initials, 89 i assume is the year he was born.

"Pilous" doesn't really mean something in particular, it can be for example a dog's name or something like that
