A really sad day, a true great in the DJing world has decided to knock it on the head. A lot is made of Erol's 8/9 hour sets he does once a year for Bugged Out - DT is a DJ for whom that is par for the course.

One of my favourite flyers I have ever seen was the 4th birthday of DT's night, Be Yourself. It basically read "As its our birthday, we have spared no expense in getting the best available DJs. From 12-2 we have Danny Tenaglia. 2-5 is Danny Tenaglia. 5-8 we've got Danny Tenaglia. And then to close the party 8-12 we've got Danny Tenaglia."

I saw him numerous times, and he was always awesome. My oldest brother was a huge fan, and my youngest brother reached out to DT at my oldest's 30th, explaining what a fan he was etc. DT sent a card to my bro, with a lovely personal message, a phone number, an address, and an open invite to vist an time he was in NYC. A few months later my bro got an email saying that he'd set up a party that was exactly like the old Loft club, and he'd love it if my bro could come.

So basically, we're talking about one of the all time great DJs hanging up his headphones. And one of the all time nice guys of DJing moving on. Big up DT, a true DJing legend.

^ great story!

Never had the chance to catch Danny Tenaglia, but certainly was really into some o his tracks And that back in the late 90's/00's. Mad respect for anyone that devoted to their art, and for being in the game so long.

Aw man that's a shame. Never saw him play out but definitely felt his influence.

Bloody great yarn there too Will.

His productions were tight too, around 1992 he was unstoppable.

I meet him a couple of years ago on the plane from dublin to ibiza. He was a really nice guy, took time out to talk to everyone that recognized him he also took everyone's name and put them on the guest list for space the next night which he was playing at. Legend!!!

personally think more has been made out of this than has been needed but it just wouldn't be danny without the dramatic facebook comments etc . i think even himself has realised this with lots of the later comments playing it down

DJs often go missing for a year with not everyone noticing but he is pointing out why he will be missing in true DT style.

guys a legend and i hope he enjoys the time off that he deserves
