Well in case anyone isn't able to watch England Ukraine, you just missed an incredibly lacklustre 45 mins from England. We're probably lucky to be at 0-0.

Yeah, we didn't really deserve to win that game, we were very fortunate. Glad we did but that was definitely over the line and even without that we certainly weren't the better team. But good result statistically!

well he was off anyway so the lino's 2 mistakes evened themselves out pretty sharpish

we're very limited but playing to our strengths, gerrard's having a good tournament and parker is getting his face in the way of everything

we could frustrate italy for a while and then who knows?

obvious semi finals alert:

portugal v spain
germany v italy

italy winning a final against spain? could happen, they didn't trek 21km at 3am after their win against ireland on the off chance did they?
so i'll put money on england, the czechs and france

still can't bring myself to back greece, even after all

So I guess it's me vs the whole forum on Sunday!... :P Should be a good one but on that day I will be doing this subconsciously (most likely even verbally) to all of you.

really surprised england topped that group, pretty impressive even if they havnt been playing very well. ukraine looked the better side for large parts yesterday, just not enough quality to finish off their chances.

i cant see germany losing to greece, even if germany have been pretty suspect at times, could and should have conceded a penalty against denmark that may well have knocked us out. would like to see jogi using the depth of the squad a bit more, give reus and gotze some playing time, preferably for podolski whos been pretty average and uninspiring.

not sure who id rather have germany play, italy always tend to beat germany but this england side are kind of scary in that they get a result without necessarily being the better team. i backed france to be a darkhorse this tournament so gna stick by them despite yesterday and call a germany - france final.

both of those teams offer more in attack than defence and it could be a pretty open game so i wouldn't mind seeing that... as long as germany won

i don't like seeing nasri happy

Just got France in a 'Last-8 sweepstake at work'. What are my chances? I haven't been following the tournament much, but I do know they lost 2-0 the other night, which seems bad...

knockouts innit, anything can happen, though there are murmurings of discontent and bust-ups again after that crap performance against sweden

mexes is out so they are 1 liability short, koscielny is able cover

benzema's probably the best striker in the tournament, probably the world at the moment without making the headlines so maybe it's his time... in short, they have the talent but do they have the temperament? Let's watch and find out
oh and last 8 sweepstake? are there only 7 other guys there? are you snow white?

Thanks for the info, fingers crossed so I can claim my £16 bounty.

Not Snow White, and most colleagues are tall enough to not be dwarves, although we do sometimes sing songs as we work. It's just convenient my team consists of eight people this week...

england and italy both poor in terms of finishing. in regards to the spot kicks ashley cole should have never taken that penalty

I've said it before and I will say it again, England will never win anything ever again. They are just destined to underachieve.

serious man crush on pirlo after that. italy one penalty down, hart doing his best to put him off jumping and screaming and he has the nerve to pull that off, so much swagger. overall ive been pretty dissapointed with the quarter finals, so many boring games.

Whoever wins between Germany and Italy wins the Eurocup final, calling it now.

i have italy in the work sweep and in another competition i predicted germany would win, so either outcome would please me. plus i like both teams.
