“Whether a record is made with guitars or synthesizers, or sung in English or in Swahili, or pressed on vinyl or not pressed on vinyl, is regardless, irrelevant. We celebrate music because we appreciate its expressive qualities and what it says to us. I think it’s stupid to categorise or quarantine music because it doesn’t fit into somebody’s preconception of what it should be.”
