Dunno about the artwork thing, Intro's work for xtrmntr was fucking amazing, maybe the stenciling idea but then thats not original.

Yep, the artwork was class but Kasabian totally ripped the feel of it off. Loads of 1920's Russian revolutionary propagander shtick.

I liked them when i first heard them, i liked the way they packaged the early 10" singles. The huge posterpacks, the stencil, and in particular the wrapping the record in a flag. (I'm a sucker for good packaging) And the bold logo they had was ace.

1st album was good - not listened to it or them since tho. apart from whats been on the radio.
They used to be really good live but they definitely started attracting a bozzy lad culture crowd as they got bigger.

far from shit. If you describe Kasabian as shit you don't leave yourself much room below for the real dross.

Fair enough, their not shit in the grander scheme of things but the fact they're such cocky pricks means they should be singled out for abuse in my eyes. Any band that sets their stall out as the saviours of rock is in my bad books from the outset but when they back it up with the derivative shite they produce it's just taking the piss.

Plus, they're absolutely a lager drinkers band. I'd say 90% of their audience like Oasis, The Stone Roses, Primal Scream and fuck all else.

arrogant - yes.
saviours of rock'n'roll - clearly not.

i think arrogance is ok - and in many cases it can carry a band much further than they deserve. But to maintain that arrogance where you speak to every single person like they're shit and inferior is a bit shitty.
I met them on their 1st tour when they played upstairs at the jug of ale in Moseley, Birmingham with Chikinki and they were cocks back then.

but that Shakes remix of Shoot the runner was actually ok.

No, they're first album was good, I'm sorry but that is just truth.

However, their latest installment of music, was unbelievabley bad.

Add them together and divide by two: Kasabian are average?

My mate is helping put the line-up for Creamfields together, I'll see if there is anything more that I'm allowed to put up regarding line-up.

I asked if I could put the line-up together for one of the tents, unsurprisingly they said no. Well if it all falls flat now Mr Barton you now where it went wrong ;)

Kasabian aside, doesnt anyone else agree that Creamfields is way too overrun with scum and bad sound levels, I personally can't be fucked with it this year after 2 years of dissapointment.

Good line ups and all but generally theres bad atmosphere, and although although last yr it wasnt too bad regarding violence, the yr before I saw atleast 4 fights, in tents that is during dj sets (and NO i dont go into the Hard Trance/DnB tents)

The sound was bloody terrible I think you'll agree as well last year. Welcome to the board mate.

If creamfields was a free event, i'd go again. If you spend money, you'll only be disappointed.

Besides, i don't really see the point if there is no camping at a festival. The the best times in festivals are at the campsite anyway.

Thats festivals though, just like clubs when your surrounded by nu-rave dickheads covered in glow-paint and wearing topmans finest slogan tshirts, every club is full of idiots just like festivals and theyre even worse when the lights come up!
