i made a edit of the breakfast club classic "dont you forget about me" by simple minds. i havent changed much at all, but i just wanted to hear it in there as an 80s mix wouldn't be complete without it!

Buffet Libre DJ's are doing this 80s cover project thing - basically you pick a song from the 80's and cover it (surprisingly). I think they're going to release it as a mixtape or something along those lines.

They gave a list of tracks in the Myspace they sent out.

I was tempted to do one, but I really wouldn't know where to start.

Sujo, where can you find a list of artists/tracks?

Debut E.P. 'If Not Now, When?' April 14th on Beatport.

list of artists involved...

The Twelves, Sidechains, The Toxic Avenger, Anoraak, Grum, Database, Moulinex, Pink Skull, RAC, Xinobi, Damage, Russ Chimes, CFCF, The Shoes, Cryptonites, Culture Prophet, Daroc, Royal Rumble, The Amplid, Adventure Kid, Loud Pipes, Mat Payne, James Husband, Computer Love, Keenhouse, Emotiquon, Mojib, Night Facilities, Clash The Disco Kids, Oh Snap!, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, South Central, Lillica Libertine, Vitaminsforyou , Tknik, PonkRocks, Fisk vs Blende, Beesmunt Soundsystem, We Are Terrorists, Purple Crush, Hello Tokyo

the very best of upcoming electronic music is in here! (some of them already famous...in belgium! hehe)

no tracklist yet...we are still waiting for confirmation, we asked for 3 different songs...they'll decide which one is the one to cover...hehe

buffetlibre may not be the best djs on earth (they arent, I can tell...hehe) but they have great ideas such as proyecto batidora (the remix project, http://www.proyectobatidora.net ) and this REWIND (80s covers) project now...

So are you guys actually remaking the song (in your own instruments/style as it were), or just doing a sort of reedit/remix from bits from the original?

not using the original parts (as we dont have them) but its not a proper cover as we want to turn it more into our style...so it will be some kind of reinterpretation! hehe
