Firstly, the Long Blondes tracks produced by Erol are now out on Rough Trade, available from all good record stores, the tracks are spread across the CD and two 7" formats. There has been some busy-ness on the remix front again recently - a mix of 'K-Hole' by Ali Love has been completed by Erol's 'good friend' Mustapha 3000, who also has a mix of Headman's 'Moisture' out on July 3rd.
Erol himself is putting the finishing touches to a mix for one of the biggest bands in the world at the moment, all will be revealed and heard in good time!

A new podcast of Erol's set on Tim Sweeneys excelent Beats In Space set can be heard in the listen section, and there are a couple of new sets coming online soon. The 'Squque Eyes' collaboration with Riton is finally in the shops, you can pick it up direct from Phonica by clicking here, and there are a couple of copies left of Spring, the latest mini album by Beyond The Wizards Sleeve which can be bought by clicking here. Speaking of Wizards Sleeve, there will soon be some remixes surfacing soon for new band The Aliens, which features members of The Beta Band, and what's sure to be a huge summer smash this year, Peter, Bjoern & John's 'Young Folk'. More updates on these when we get them.

The dates section is also updated, some prestigous slots include closing the main stage at Bennicasm and warming up for Daft Punk at this year's Global Gathering festival in July. Click here to go to the site and here to directly download the mp3 of the mix. A track listing for this mix will be appearing on this site soon.

Also, Erol has been putting the remixing on ice for a while, and has instead been going into the studio with the actual bands themselves, notably The Long Blondes. The first fruits of this will appear on the bands forthcoming single released thorough Rough Trade on June 26th. Erol produced and mixed 'Fulwood Babylon" (currently number 1 in his Trash chart), "Platitudes" and "Last Night On Northgate Street" for Sheffields finest.

There's more stuff coming up with bands, watch this space!

Saturday 1st April: Discography and links updated. More remixes on the way
A quick update to say that the Hot Chip and Justice mix are now on promo. The official release for both of them will be later this month. Also out this month is a special 12" titled 'Squque Eyes - Riton meets Erol Alkan' which is a demented remake of Riton's single from last year. The Daft Punk remix will now be released as a limited 12" single sometime in May, and Erol will be appearing at Global Gathering playing shortly before the Parisian's massive UK show in July. In other news, the next Beyond The Wizards Sleeve EP will be out in a matter of weeks, as well as a remix for a good friend under a new name, and a new (arguable) style. An finally, an interview with PATA2 has appeared online, you can read it here.

Tuesday 25th October: Franz Ferdinand's Glam Racket release date Monday 21st November 2005.
Due to the surprise success of Erol's FF remix, Domino records are releasing the mix as a stand alone 12" single, with the original version (basically the promo with a picture sleeve).
The demand for the mix has been so great that copies have exchanged hands on ebay for over £50, and the 3 key stores which the remix reached managed to sell out of all copies in a day. One independent store alone managed 110 copies in 2 days and claim its their fastest selling record since opening.

P.S This web site should be getting a major overhaul soon, but if anyone out there fancies redesigning it, then get in touch.

Wednesday 31st August: New remix and new live mix online.
It's been a while since any news has been updated here, but like overdue buses, we have a whole load to get through! Firstly, the Mystery Jets mix should be in the shops in a couple of weeks.. The next Annie 12" (which Erol has again put together with remixes from Joakim and Patrick Wolf) is being promoed now, and white labels may be in select record stores by the time you read this.. A live dj mix taken from Bugged Out's most recent party is currently online and can be listened to by clicking here.. A track listing exists somewhere on the message board... And finally, Erol has just remixed the forthcoming single by Franz Ferdinand. It's called "Do You Want To (Erol Alkan's Glam Racket)" and it's already being spun by top Dj's like 2manydjs, Justice & Headman. You'll recognize it by the fact it has a 4 minute intro! White labels are currently being pressed as i type this!

And finally, it seems that Erol will be slowing down Djing from now on for various reasons, so long gone are the days when he seemed to be playing your home town almost EVERY WEEK! Until next time!

Monday 18th July: Erol Alkan's Radio 1 Mini Mix - ONLINE NOW

Tuesday 12th July: New remix on the way...
Erol has just finished a remix for one of Britain's best new bands, The Mystery Jets. The remix of "Zoo Time" is expected to see the light of day within the next month or so, and may be promoed sooner. It is again, very different from the previous set of remixes, this time transforming the original progressive rock beast (which is also a live gig recording) into a percussive Gregorian disco monster . More info to follow...

Bloc Party update: There are 200 copies of the remix out there, and we only know of Rough Trade having any copies left. Also, the vocal mix will only appear on this 12", as the dub will be featured on the forthcoming Bloc Party remix album.

Oh, by the way, the first Annie 12" is extremely limited, and orders for it are double what has actually be pressed, so be quick!!

As well as that, NME have gone and given us 9 out of 10! Trax in France made the album Compilation Of The Month, Groove in Germany gave it a brilliant review, Time Out also followed suit by declaring there are "37 highlights" on it! There's a feature in Dj which although is extremely plosive, does carry a fair few mistakes! Apparently, it also got 4 out of 5 in the same magazine, although we cant find the review!
The 3 vinyl set album is out now, in all good record stores, and the other big news is the album has charted, and its sitting nicely between "The Best Worship Songs EVER" and "Chick Flick Diaries". Natch.

Wednesday 27th April 2005

Out next week is Erol's mix of The Chemical Brothers "Believe". The remix is now available on the enhanced CD single! Limited quantities of the vinyl are out there, somewhere..
We'll keep you updated.. x x x

Tuesday 12th April 2005
Firstly, we should let you know that there is a micro site online for the forthcoming Bugged Out mix album, we think the url is www.bugged-out.net so click it and see if it works! Its under 2 weeks now till the album is out, and so far, the initial response by the press (if this kind of thing convinces you into buying music!) has been brilliant to say the least. Q gave it 4/5, Rip & Burn gave it 4/5, so has Playlouder and Word did a great cartoon and donated 2 pages loosely based on the album. We will keep you updated!
This site will also soon expand, there will be a lengthy discography coming soon, as well as some pictures, and as promised, Erol has decided to "rid himself" of all those dj edits and booty's which he has kept to himself till now. We can't reveal how these will be available, but keep checking back to this site and i'm sure it'll be pretty easy to locate the track s... Oooh, talking of which, there's a mini film coming to this site very, very soon.. Again, we can't reveal much, but its all shot by Erol, and documents the last few years. You may also be in it. Again, we cant reveal much more...
The Chemical Brothers remix is available next week, we hear the mix has also made the cd single, which is ace news! Talk is it could possibly knock Tony Christie off the number 1 spot.. Lets see..
On top of that, vinyl promo's of the long completed but not yet released Bloc Party remixes will be circulating soon. No idea if they are up for sale, but we are sure some stores like Rough Trade will have some copies.. Until next time! x

Sunday 6th March 2005
It now seems that the Bugged Out mix album will be released at the tail end of April. Titled "A Bugged Out Mix By Erol Alkan", it features 2 discs, the first is a approximation of his sets at Bugged Out (dance music which rocks, in one way or another..) and the second disc is a selection (semi mixed, almost a bit of a trip...) which covers his expansive record collection. We cant yet say what is or isnt on it, but some of his Dj mixes and edits are featured, as well as a special track kindly given to him by a good friend and Dj we all know and love.. Watch this space for more details.
If that wasn't enough, the usually unproductive Alkan has also remixed the forthcoming Chemical Brothers single. His rework of "Believe" has already made people lose their minds on a few dance floors over the last week, and is currently in the hands of Felix and 2manydjs. We think it's out April 16th or something like that..
And if that wasn't enough, there is a new Trash internet radio show. click here to hear it!

Sunday 13th February 2005
Erol has just finished 2 remixes for Bloc Party, a 2 Cd mix album for Bugged Out!, and uploaded one of his Trash sets online.. The Bugged Out mix album is out sometime in April, more info to follow... And you can listen to Erol's set from Trash (recorded: Monday 25th January 2005) by clicking here

Tuesday 28th December

Sunday 12th December
Forgot to mention that the new Trash internet radio show is now online, go to www.trashclub.co.uk and follow the links.. Also, the psychedelia infatuation continues. Beyond The Wizard's Sleeve, which features Erol alongside Richard Norris, returns to Catch on Kinglands Rd in east London after the last party, which was twisted to say the least.. expect a 5 hour set comprising of 60's beat music, psychedelic delights and freakbeat. arrive early, as the last one had a hundred people locked outside! Oh, and it's FREE!

Tuesday 2nd November
Erol was Sean Rowleys guest on his infamous and wonderful All Back To Mine radio show last weekend. You can still hear the show up until next monday on the net by clicking this link. Friday 7th October
Another remix/re-edit is released November 1st, this time for Canada's newest sensations, Death From Above 1979. DFA 79 should not be confused with New Yorks extraordinary production duo DFA, although both claiming to have used the name first. We love them both, and this love has been extended as much as Erol's remix of "Romantic Rights" which is the first single from their album "You Are A Woman, I Am A Machine". The mix will be featured on the 12" and Cd single, imaginatively titled: Erol Alkan's Love From Below Re-Edit, it's a major departure from the standard re-edit format, this time attempting to fuse the aggression of Lightning Bolt with the explosive qualities of the Chemical Brothers. The band will also play live at Trash on the day of release.

It's been a while since the last bit of news on here, in that time both the Mylo and Alter Ego mixes have been gathering a fair bit of pace; the Rocker mix has been further championed by the likes Andy Weatherall, Ivan Smagghe, Mr C & Damian Lazarus, and the Mylo mix has also been chiming around clubs around the world.

Sunday 21st August
Also released in October, is Erol’s demonic re-edit of Alter Ego’s “Rocker”. Already described by some as “the work of the devil itself” (incidentally, it blew the limiters up at the mastering suite, which according to those in the know, is pretty hard to do..), is released through Skint Records as the b side to the now legendary German original. Some white labels have already come in circulation, so beware before you take them mushrooms.

Saturday 6th August
Erol’s extended re-edit of Mylo’s “Drop The Pressure” will released by Breastfed Records (www.breastfed.tv) sometime in October. Already being played off CDR by top jocks such as 2manydjs, Tiefshwartz, Tiga, Glimmer Twins, Headman & Ewan Pearson to name a few, it will feature as part of a remix package alongside two lovely mixes from The Glimmer Twins, and a superb bass driven monster from Riton. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for Mylo’s own remix for Annie’s “Chewing Gum”

Friday 5th August:
Another Dj mix has appeared on the 3voor12 website (same address as below), taken from the 5 Days Off festival last month. Erol had all his Cd’s nicked on the morning of the show, hours before he had to get on the plane, so its not the most inventive of sets, but I’m sure you understand…

Wednesday 16th June:
Now&Wow recorded last Saturdays set in Rotterdam and is now online, resplendent with the records jumping all over the place! The link is http://3voor12.vpro.nl/erolalkan
There is also a link there for a gig at Lovefields, but ignore it, it sucks.

Monday 14th June:
The latest installment of Trash Internet Radio is up. 21 shows in now, with some of the best music new and old alongside live tracks recorded at Trash. Go to www.trashclub.co.uk or www.playlouder.com for more.

Welcome to this site, as you can see, its still under construction, but things should began to start popping up here soon ..
